**Objects:** THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO, TO BE CARRIED OUT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, ARE:1) THE RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION OF THE GRADE II LISTED BANQUETING HALL IN JESMOND DENE FOR THE BENEFIT AND ADVANCEMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION, AND IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS TO OPERATE A VISITOR CENTRE TO ENABLE THE PUBLIC TO LEARN ABOUT THE HISTORY AND HERITAGE OF THE HALL AND THE LIFE OF SIR WILLIAM ARMSTRONG, LATER BARON ARMSTRONG OF CRAGSIDE.2) TO FURTHER OR BENEFIT THE RESIDENTS OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID RESIDENTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE RESIDENTS.3) TO FURTHER SUCH PURPOSES AS ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES AS THE TRUSTEES MAY DECIDE FROM TIME TO TIME.

**Activities:** The Armstrong Project CIO aims to improve the conditions of life for the residents of Newcastle upon Tyne without distinction by associating the said residents and relevant organisations in a common effort to advance public education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation, and to pursue in addition general charitable purposes.
