## **1. Introduction** 

MCRM came into existence in early 2025 and became a registered charity on the 19[th] May 2025.  This is the first annual report for MCRM and it covers the period from early 2025 to 31[st] January 2026.  The trustees who served during that time and up to the date of approval of this report were:

- Michael Minter, Treasurer 

- Kevin Mullins, Secretary 

- Brian Warwick, Trustee

## **2. Structure, governance and management** 

MCRM is now a registered charity governed by its constitution. 

The charity is managed by the board of trustees, who are responsible for the overall direction and control of the charity. Trustees are appointed in accordance with the governing document. 

New trustees receive an introduction to the charity’s work and their responsibilities as trustees. The trustees meet regularly to review the charity’s activities, finances, and plans. 

## **3. Objectives and activities** 

The charity’s objects are: 



(1) to provide a safe and welcoming space where people can come together to make, repair, and repurpose items. 

(2) to connect with others, learn new skills, and improve physical and mental wellbeing. 

The trustees confirm that they have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit when planning the charity’s activities. 

## **4. Achievements and performance** 

During the year, the charity continued to carry out its activities in support of its charitable purposes. 

Key achievements during the year included: 

- Reducing landfill by repairing items 

- Over 125 different items repaired and refurbished 

- Increasing membership by 30% 

- Supporting other local charities 

The trustees consider that the charity has made a positive contribution toward its aims during the year. 

## **5. Financial review** 

The charity’s total income up to the 31[st] January 2026 was **£2431** and total expenditure was **£1244.** 

At the end of the year, the charity held total funds of £ **1188** of which all is unrestricted. 

The trustees are satisfied with the charity’s financial position and believe that it remains able to continue its activities in the coming year. 

## **6. Reserves policy** 

Currently MCRM does not maintain a reserves Policy because there are no active commitments. 

## **7. Plans for future periods** 



In the coming year, the charity plans to: 

- Gain planning permission for a larger premises 

- Raise funding to supply said premises 

- Establish said premises and enable an increased membership. 

## **8. Trustee responsibilities statement** 

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations. 

The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records, safeguarding the assets of the charity, and taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
