The object of the CIO is to advance education for the public
benefit in Islamic history, art and culture by the provision and
maintenance of a museum/gallery, through exhibitions,
conferences, workshops and public events for the display of
artefacts and information about Islamic history, art and culture
and the role it played/plays in the life of Muslims. Nothing in this
Constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the
CIO for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with
Section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act
2005 and Section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.| |---|---| ||The CIO has organised public events across the UK, combining
exhibitions, conferences, talks and workshops focused on Islamic history,
art and culture. These events have allowed the public to view artefacts
and artwork, learn about Islamic heritage, and engage in educational
activities.
Through these activities, the CIO has promoted greater understanding
and appreciation of Islamic history, art and culture and its contribution to
wider society
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report
and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and
regulations.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records
which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position
of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements
comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 and applicable
regulations.
The Trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the
charity and, therefore, for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and
detection of fraud and other irregularities.
In preparing the accounts, the Trustees are responsible for selecting
suitable accounting policies and applying them consistently, and for
making judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent. The
