ICMSS assumed all the assets and liabilities of the unincorporated association which for some years had been operating under the same name. Apart from the first Trustees (listed above), every Trustee must be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the Trustees. The Trustees listed above have been duly appointed for (where not otherwise specified) three-year terms in accordan￿ with thi5 requirement. CHARITABLE OBJECT ICMSS'S charitable object is to affvan￿ education for the public benefit by providing short residential courses in England for adults lutored by experienced professional musicians to promote, sustain and increase participants. Instrumental skills and knowledge and understanding of chamber music. In setting ICMSS'S charitable object, the Trustees have considered the Charity Commission's public benefit guidance. ACTIVITY DURING THE ACCOUNTING PERIOD The accounting period covers the activity of ICMSS during the first Pgrsod of operations as a CIO which principally involved the running of a one week fully residential chamber music course for adult instrumentalists In August 2025 at Queen Anne's School, Caversham, Berkshire. Key elements of the 2025 Summer School were the following.. 51 adult instrumentslists attended the Summer School ofwhom 45 were from the United lQ'ngdom, 5 from the Nethertands and 1 from the USA. Of these, 8 had not previously attended a Summer School run by ICMSS. The Summer School faculty comprised.. Adam Precious (Course Director. double bass)., Michael Bell {piano)- Diana Cummings (violin),. Jane Hanna (horn). Jonathan Price {bassoon)' David Rix Iclarinet),. Nick Stringfellow {cello)', Justin Ward (violal- and Richard Weigall (oboe). 54 different pieces of chamber music (ranging from trios to nonets by composers from the 18th century through to living composers) were studied with each participant studying up to six pre4eslgnated pieces in three sessions involving the same players and tutor. ICMSS paFtFcipants provid8 a Bubstartrtial Ikbrary of chamber music which can be accessed by any participants throughout the week. On 28 April 2025. the Int8mational Chamber Music Summer School was awarded charitable status by the Charity Commission. Following the change to charitsble status, £9,069.02 of reserves were transferred in on 28 Apr(12025, together with nel course fees of £44.938 (total £54,007.02). Going foNard, the financial year*nd date is 30 November. 2. Accommodation costs at Queen Anne's School were budgeted to include VAT. It was only after 28 April 2025 and the granting of charitable ststus that the charity was able to arranga for these costs to he settled without the addition of VAT. This explains the larger than expected surplus for Ihis course1£4,247.60)- 3. The Net Loss does not reflect the underlying result for the whole year. This is because the bulk of the yoarfs income was received before 28 April 2025 while the bulk of the year's expenditure was incurred after 28 April 2025.
