2. Structure, Governance and Management

Ravi Gidar Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) using the foundation model, under which the only voting members are the charity trustees. The CIO was registered by the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 7 April 2025.

The charity is governed by its constitution dated 26 February 2025. The trustees manage the affairs of the CIO and may exercise its powers for the purpose of furthering its charitable objects. New trustees are appointed by resolution at a properly convened trustees’ meeting, with regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.

In particular, the constitution enables the Foundation to support these purposes by making grants to Oxford Hospitals Charity for suitable projects, with a focus on equipment, research and facilities in renal, transplant, heart and dementia services, and by making grants to The Care Workers’ Charity for suitable projects supporting care workers.

Activities during the year

During the year the trustees focused on fundraising and developing support for Oxford Hospitals Charity and The Care Workers’ Charity. The principal fundraising event was the RGF Ball, held at the Royal Lancaster on 14 March 2026 in honour of Ravi Gidar. The evening brought supporters together for music, comedy and insight, with funds raised through attendance donations, online giving and an auction.

The Trustees have started to plan new events for fundraising.

8. Trustee Responsibilities

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records and for preparing the charity’s accounts, Trustees’ Annual Report and annual return in accordance with charity law and the requirements applicable to the CIO. The constitution requires the statements of account, annual reports and returns to be sent to the Charity Commission within the applicable filing period.

The trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity, applying its income and property solely towards its charitable objects, and taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

During the year, the trustees focused on fundraising activities to generate resources for future grant-making in furtherance of these charitable purposes. The trustees are satisfied that the charity's aims, activities and planned grants are carried out exclusively for the public benefit and in accordance with its charitable objects.

The trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of Section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.

Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with the Charities Act 2011, the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the Constitution.

The charity is eligible to prepare its accounts on a receipts and payments basis. Although the financial information has been presented in the format of a Statement of Financial Activities and Statement of Financial Position for ease of understanding and consistency of presentation, the accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis and do not constitute accruals accounts prepared in accordance with FRS 102 and the Charities SORP.

The trustees are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which are sufficient to show and explain the charity's transactions and to disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity. Such records enable the trustees to ensure compliance with the applicable requirements of charity law and the Constitution.

The trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity, ensuring that its funds and property are applied solely in furtherance of its charitable objects, and for taking reasonable steps to prevent and detect fraud and other irregularities.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Ravi Gidar Foundation (the Trust) for the year ended 31 March 2026.

Responsibilities and Basis of Report

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent Examiner's Statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. General Information

Ravi Gidar Foundation is a charitable incorporated organisation registered with the Charity Commission, registered charity number 1212845. The principal address is 2 Vine Street, First Floor, Uxbridge, UB8 1QE.

2. Accounting Policies

2.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements

The accounts have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and Charity Commission guidance applicable to charities preparing receipts and payments accounts. The Statement of Financial Activities and Statement of Financial Position have been presented voluntarily to enhance the understanding of the charity's financial position. Income and expenditure are recognised when received and paid respectively. No accruals or prepayments have been recognised in these accounts.

2.2. Incoming Resources

Incoming resources comprise donations, grants, bank interest and other receipts received by the charity during the year.

Income is recognised when received and is included in the Statement of Financial Activities on a receipts basis.

2.3. Resources Expended

Resources expended comprise charitable and support costs incurred in furtherance of the charity's objectives.

Expenditure is recognised when paid and is included in the Statement of Financial Activities on a payments basis.

6. Independent Examiner's Remuneration

The independent examiner's fee in respect of the period ended 31 March 2026 was agreed at £1,800 (inclusive of VAT). No amount was paid during the year and, as these accounts have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis, no expense has been recognised in the accounts.
