The charity raises funds to enable it to meet it's objects regarding the preservation of Wenlock Abbey and its historic contents.
Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:(a) The Preservation, Protection And Improvement Of Wenlock Abbey Including Its Ancillary Buildings And Gardens;(b) The Preservation, Protection And Improvement Of All Furniture, Pictures, Historic Records, Books, Manuscripts, Sculptures, Muniments, Porcelain, Silver And Gold, Objects D'art And Other Chattels Or Items Of Historic, Artistic Or Scientific Interest Associated With Or Displayed In Wenlock Abbey;(c) The Encouragement Of The Provision Of Access To And The Study Of Wenlock Abbey And Its Preservation And Enhancement By The Artist Louis De Wet Together With All Its Ancillary Buildings And Gardens, Furniture, Pictures And Other Chattels Or Items, By Members Of The General Public; And(d) The Education Of The General Public And In Particular, But Without Prejudice To The Generality Of The Foregoing:-(I) The Increase In Their Knowledge, Understanding And Appreciation Of Any Matters Of Historic, Artistic, Architectural, Aesthetic Or Scientific Interest;andii) The Promotion Of The Study Of Horticulture And Ecology.
