## **TREASURER'S REPORT** 

This is the first full year in which the Trustee's measures to reduce expenditure have had a full effect. These measures reduced the facilities within the tower, such as removing the internet connection, but avoided the necessity of obtaining large annual grants. 

**INCOME:** Our income was boosted by donations from Waitrose and from St Wilfrid's trustees and we thank them for their continued generosity. The tower was hired out on one occasion, the first time since the Covid outbreak, and the signs are that hiring will increase in the coming year. In the last three months the numbers using the tower on a Monday have increased which is good news for ourselves and our efforts to help the community. 

**EXPENDITURE:** Our water bill significantly increased during the year but the main reason for this was a water leak over a one week period. Attempts to predict the various fluctuations in electricity prices were not successful but resulted in a significant underspend. Security on our website was increased, for a price, and this now corresponds with industry standards. The major unbudgetted expenditure was on external door repairs made necessary by their regular exposure to rain and damp. Red Tower paid the full cost of the repairs but it is hoped to obtain a reimbursement for some of the cost from CoY Council. 

Finally, a big thank you to our regular helpers without which there would be no Red Tower activity. 

**NOTES:** 

There is an agreed policy that at year end the Red Tower will endeavour to hold one years potential expenditure of its own finances as a reserve,currently that is £4,000. 

No donations have been made to the Red Tower over £5 by any Trustee during the financial year. 

No payments other than for legitimate claims have been made to any Trustee during the financial year. 

The Red Tower has no paid employees
