Awarding grants in accordance with governing document objectives

Objects: 3.1 The objects of the CIO are, for the public benefit, to advance such exclusively charitable purposes according to the law of England and Wales within England and Wales, in particular but not limited to that of: (a) the advancement of the arts and culture, in particular (but not exclusively) fashion, design and related creative practices through the presentation of publicly accessible creative activity; (b) the advancement of education by providing training, mentoring and skills development in fashion, design, event production and associated creative and technical disciplines; (d) the relief of need among young people and families, including (without limitation): (i) the preservation and protection of good health (mental and physical) of children and parents; (ii) the prevention of cruelty to or maltreatment of children;(iii) the relief of sickness, poverty and need among children and parents; and 3.2 The CIO may further the above objects by any charitable means as the trustees think fit, including (but not limited to) the direct delivery of programmes and the making of grants.3.3 Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
