The charity is governed by its constitution and the trustees are responsible for the management and administration of the charity. ## **Objectives and public benefit** The charity exists to advance the Sikh faith for the public benefit. Its purposes include religious teaching and education through talks, seminars, camps, lessons, classes, literature and other activities that help people learn about and engage with the Sikh faith. In planning and carrying out the charity's activities, the trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit. The charity's activities are intended to be available for the benefit of the general public and to further the charity's religious and educational purposes. ## **Activities during the period** During the period, the charity supported and delivered a range of religious programmes, teaching sessions and community activities in England in line with its charitable objectives. The activities were focused on promoting understanding of the Sikh faith and giving members of the public opportunities to learn, participate and engage with religious teachings and practices. This included activities of a teaching and educational nature, as well as community-based religious programmes intended to make the charity’s work accessible to the wider public. The trustees consider that the activities carried out during the period were consistent with the charity’s stated purposes and contributed directly to furthering its charitable objectives. ## **Financial review** Total income for the period was £12,511. The accounts show a net surplus of £3,340 for the period.
