The primary aim of the Whirlwind Fighter Project is to reproduce a single example of the Westland Whirlwind Mk 1 twin-engine single-seater fighter-bomber aircraft.It is intended that the project will result in a non-airworthy reproduction of the Westland Whirlwind, built to available original plans, with (where possible) original materials.
Objects: For The Public Benefit To Advance Education About The Whirlwind Fighter Aircraft And Ww2 Aviation History And Heritage By Recreating An Aircraft Model For Display, Providing Information About The Historical Context And Occupational Processes And Innovative Manufacturing Techniques.
