Governing Document:

The Rumba Animal Cancer Foundation is a charitable company limited by guarantee, incorporated on and registered as a charity on 9[th] October 2024 and was registered as a charity on 26[th] February 2025 so has a shortened first financial year to 8[th] October 2025.

Organisational structure and decision making

The charity is currently operated through the voluntary efforts of its trustees. It has no paid staff. The trustee board retains responsibility for setting the strategy of the charity, agreeing policy and managing implementation through appropriate means.

Responsibilities of trustees

As explained more fully in the Trustees' Responsibilities Statement, the Trustees (who are also the directors of the charitable company for the purposes of company law) are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements and for being satisfied that they give a true and fair view, and for such internal control as the Trustees determine is necessary to enable the preparation of financial statements that are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error. In preparing the financial statements, the Trustees are responsible for assessing the charitable company's ability to continue as a going concern, disclosing, as applicable, matters related to going concern and using the going concern basis of accounting unless the Trustees either intend to liquidate the charitable company or to cease operations, or have no realistic alternative but to do so.

Activities and Achievements

Charity’s Mission and Purpose

To help fund technological advances which will treat animals suffering from cancer and other potentially life-threatening illnesses and to support pioneering research, fund the purchase of technically advanced medical equipment and the application of procedures which could also benefit human patients.

The Rumba Animal Cancer Foundation charity was formed in 2025 to support pioneering clinical veterinary care and provide equipment to treat animals with cancer.

Through a unique partnership with AURA Veterinary, a world leading centre for excellence in animal oncology and soft tissue surgery based in Surrey UK, the Rumba Animal Cancer Foundation will deliver groundbreaking clinical research and treatment to ensure that more pets survive cancer. In time, the aspiration of the Rumba Foundation is to prevent animals from developing cancer altogether.

The Rumba Animal Cancer Foundation is believed to be the only dedicated animal cancer charity in the UK. All donations go directly to support the most advanced treatments to save or prolong the lives of animals. As there are no operational costs, 100% of monies raised are used to fund the purchase of equipment and methodologies of treating animals with cancer.

Achievements in the Year

The Trustees of the Rumba Animal Cancer Foundation have established a relationship with staff at Google UK which who have special interest groups within the offices worldwide who are animal lovers. They support a range of approved and vetted charities which are accessed on

their charity portal which is called Benevity. Google enable their staff to contribute to the registered charities in the form of an annual gift of €400 during Google Giving Week held every November. In November 2024 Google staff donated £21,200 and this will occur again in November 2025.

The Trustees of the Rumba Animal Cancer Foundation have also established a relationship with Hill's Pet Nutrition. The company has sales of over $4 billion in 2023 and employs between 1,000 and 5,000 people, with more around 2,600 employees. Hill's sells more than 300 products through veterinarians and authorized retailers in over 80 countries worldwide. The company supports the Rumba Animal Cancer Foundation and has donated £2,000 in the period.

Future Plans

The Rumba Animal Cancer Foundation is collating funds with the intention of purchasing a new C-Arm to replace an aging piece of equipment. The C-Arm is a live x-ray machine which enables vets to administer chemotherapy treatment to animals with cancerous tumours. It is expected that the purchase will happen in 2026 at a cost of approximately £80,000.
