educational talks and workshops (40+
attendees)
-Educational Programmes with schools,
Young Carers and ‘Growing Well, (a charity
which promotes mental health by teaching
its beneficiaries horticultural skills,) have
been facilitated by the sharing of expertise
and resources by CBKAA Board of Trustees
with beekeepers in the branches where
these programmes were delivered:
Whitehaven + Penrith. (277 participants)
Attendees and participants at these events
and programmes are now aware of the
value of bees to their own lives, the plants
that they can grow to provide suitable forage
and the actions that they can take to report
sightings of Asian Hornets and their nests to| 2 ensure that they can be effectively destroyed in order to protect the lives of bees and other pollinators. Throughout the summer and early autumn, information displays and presentations were also provided at the major rural shows and farmers’ markets across the county to raise the general public’s awareness or these issues. |**Additional information (optional)**
