Activities

Promote equality and diversity by fostering good relations (esp. Gypsy/Traveller communities), researching/publishing issues, and cultivating support. Promote social inclusion by relieving needs, providing recreation, cultural workshops, support, and service engagement. Develop capacity/skills of disadvantaged groups to meet needs and participate fully in society.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:1. The Promotion Of Equality And Diversity For The Public Benefit By:- Fostering Good Relations Between Individuals Of Different Racial, Ethnic, And Cultural Backgrounds, Particularly But Not Exclusively With Relation To Thegypsy And Traveller Communities.- Conducting Or Commissioning Research On Equality And Diversity Issues And Publishing The Results To The Public.- C) Cultivating A Sentiment In Favour Of Equality And Diversity.2. To Promote Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit By Working With People In Who Are Excluded From Society, Or Part Of Society, As A Result Of Being A Member Of Asocially And Economically Deprived Community, In Particular But Not Exclusively Those From Gypsy And Traveller Communities, And To Relieve The Needs Of Suchpeople And Assist Them To Integrate Into Society, In Particular By:- Providing Recreational Facilities And Opportunities And Group Activities Enabling People To Participate More Effectively With The Wider Community.- Providing Cultural Awareness Workshops, Community Gatherings And General Support To Those Who Are Excluded Or Facing Exclusion.- Increasing, Or Co-Ordinating, Opportunities For Participants To Engage With Service Providers, To Enable Those Providers To Adapt Services To Better Meet The Needs Of That Community.3. To Develop The Capacity And Skills Of The Members Of Socially And Economically Disadvantaged Communities In England And Wales, In Particular But Not Exclusively Those In Gypsy And Traveller Communities, In Such A Way That They Are Better Able To Identify, And Help Meet, Their Needs And To Participate More Fully In Society
