Annual Trustees Report 2025-26 Finanicial Year 1[st] July 2025 – June 30[th] 2026 

West Norwich Lions Club CIO’s 2025-26 year focused on completing the transition from the former trust charity structure to the CIO, maintaining fundraising activities, Because of delays in opening the new CIO bank accounts, the club continued to use the Trust accounts until October 2025 The balances held have been transferred to the CIO account 

Our former Trust accounts along with the bank accounts have now been closed as of August 2026. 

Throughout our financial year, We were actively raising funds for local and International good causes. 

All Trustees 5 and club members 8 totalling 13 are in possession of this information. 

During the financial year, October 1st to June 30th the period from 1[st] July to September 30[th] was reported to the Charity Trust the club raised £10,123 (not including money transferred in from Trust accounts) and donated £6,662 to good causes. Running costs totalled £4,433, including membership of Lions International and a £781 penalty from HM Revenue & Customs for late submission of tax returns. The Treasurer successfully appealed the penalty and received a refund, but the refund does not show in the 202526 accounts; it was not credited until 28[th] July and will appear in the 2026-27 accounts. 

The running costs also include income and expenditure relating to connected with the Club’s Charter event, which money moved in and out of the administrative account and resulted in a profit of £208 which was credited to our addminstration account. This event was100% funded by all in attendance, at no cost to the club 

Our running costs included new equipment purchased during the year included two Sum-up card readers at a cost of £130.each. 

The club purchased tubs of Quality Street and similar sweets for Father Christmas to hand out to children during our Christmas collections 

Membership fees to Lions International each member paid £37 towards these costs 



Members traveling expenses was paid out in accordance with our club policy and authorised by treasurer and one other trustee 

Two of our ongoing projects are: Football Parking raised a total of £4,037 collecting Used Spectacles for the underdeveloped world.We forwared  32,096 pairs during our financial year forward to HQ Birmingham before  moving to the next stage. for grading repairs etc. This is a running  cost to our Charity, but money well spent.
