The charity 1$ constituted as a Charrtable Incorporated Organisation and Is govemad in accordance with its
nstitut￿n and the Charltie$ Act 2011.
The trustees are responslble for sett¢ng strategic diwtion. ensuring finar￿lat stewardship and 8ustsinabilty.
maintaining effective govemance and internal controls, and ensuring ￿mpliance with applicable legislation and
Swim Er¥Jland regulations.
For a signtficant portion of the repyjrting perlod, govemance was overseen by a single truste8. In April 2026, the
Iwstee structure was strengtPthed and new trustses appolnted, improving ovérnight. segregation of duties. and
decisiCKH￿klng ￿pabilIty.
Following this change, the trustees have implemented more formal govemance processes It￿uding regular
review of financiat perfonnance, clearer allocation of responsibiliknes, and improved financial oversight.

The trustees confirm that they have complled with the duty under the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the

supporting participatt'on in competitTrve swimming. promoting health and well-being within the local community, and

arrang•m8nts follw.ng th8 appointment of new trustees in 2025 and 2026, improved financial controls and
reporti￿ processes, and increased fundraising activty during the 2025 financial year.

5.1 Ovorylew
Prior to operating as a charlty, the Academy Swim Team Burnharrpon-sea operated as a swimming club. The
assets of the swimming dub were transferred to the Academy Swim Tgam. Bumham-on-sea Club as a charity on
1 February 2025. Collating the club and charitys financial perfonnanc8 over the three financial years 1$
summarised below..

The charity's primary source of income is subscription and membership fees, which consistently represent the
maj(ty of annual Income.

In 2025. fijndraising in¢orne increased ￿mpared to Ihe prevDus year. contributing to improved financtal
performance.
5.3 Expondlturo
The chanty's principal expenditure relates to pwl hire costs, staff and coaching costs. gala aMI compelibo
expenses, and operational costs induding softhre. banking and communications.
Pool hire remains the most significant cost, rdecting Ihe operational nature of deltvertng swimming activities.
5.4 Financial Pertorman¢e Analysis
The deficit in 2024 arose primarily due to increased competit￿n-related expenses. higher operational costs. and
lower18vels of fUndra￿Ing ino)me.
The improved financial t#)sition in 2025 reflects enhanced cost control measures. in¢reased fundraising Income,
and additional income streams including grants and other income.
This resulted In a strong recovery and a matsrla Increase In rèserves.
5.5 Financial Position
At 31 August 2025, the charity held cash and cash equivalents of appr0￿matelY £17,587 and no material
liabiSit*s.
Th6 charity is therefore consider&J to be in a stsble finawal position with 8uffi¢ient liquidity to mg61 its ongoing
obligations.

The trustees confirm that proper accounting records have been maintalned. the finanaal statements glve a tnje

assets, and the charity h&s complied with its gov8ming docum8nt and statutory requirements.

As the charity trustees of the CIO. you are responsible for the preparatlon of the aCLounts In accordance wllh the
requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act).
I report in r&specl of my examination of the CIO'S accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act. In
carying out my examination I have followed the applicable Dire¢tions given by the Charity Gommission urKler
