Under the Foundation Model structure, the charity trustees are also the members of the CIO. Trustees are appointed by the existing charity trustees in accordance with the provisions set out in the Constitution. ## **Objectives and Activities** The Sufi Hub's objectives are to advance the understanding of the Islamic religion in Slough and surrounding areas for the benefit of the public through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures, Islamic education, public celebration of religious festivals, Sunnah sports, promoting the pillars of Islam, producing and/or distributing literature on Islamic theology, jurisprudence and spirituality to enlighten others about the true meanings and ethos of the Islamic religion. The main activities undertaken by The Sufi Hub in relation to these objectives include; - Spiritual gatherings for the benefit of the wider community. - Islamic lectures and courses promoting knowledge, understanding and practice. - Theme based events according to significant dates within the Islamic calendar with arrangement of food for community social bonding. - Organising large scale event facilitating knowledge-based learning to the wider audience within the community and surrounding areas - Supporting other charities for the benefit of the needy. The trustees confirm that they have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity's aims and objectives and in planning its future activities ## **Achievements and Performance** The Sufi Hub has engaged the community consistently with weekly gatherings of spiritual reflection at local Slough Borough Council facilities, these gatherings invite families, including men, women and children providing a haven for spiritual and mental growth. Having previously worked in partnership with other local charities, we held our first independent courses through the year aiding the community with preparation for the holy month of Ramadan with tips and advice on fasting and spiritual activities, as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle, community cohesion and consistency in worship. Other courses and lectures executed include the interpretation of the sacred Islamic texts including the Quran and hadith (sayings) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). We also successfully organised and executed a large-scale event promoting good character in Islam, exemplifying the prophetic traits as well as spiritual growth and a sense of community. We have consistently arranged theme-based events with dissemination of knowledge, according to the significance of the Islamic calendar date, arranging food and get together promoting community cohesion and understanding. We have also been involved in aiding other charities and volunteering for supporting the needy. After making appropriate enquiries, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.
