First Annual Report
For the Year Ending September 2025
## **Chair’s Introduction**
It is my pleasure to present the first Annual Report for the Leighton Buzzard & District Men’s Shed. What a remarkable year it has been. In just twelve months, we have laid the foundations of a vibrant and sustainable Shed, built new relationships, welcomed members, and established ourselves as a valued part of the local community.
## **Establishing the Shed**
This year marked the successful establishment of our partnership with the Leighton Buzzard Light Railway, where we now have two active sites operating every week. These spaces have provided our members with the facilities and environment needed to come together, share skills, and support each another.
## **Membership Growth**
Our membership has grown steadily, with over 30 members now actively involved. Interest in the Shed continues to increase, demonstrating the importance of creating a space where individuals can connect, contribute, and find companionship.
## **Funding and Support**
We are grateful for the financial support received during the year. Funding has been secured through grants and from the Leighton-Linslade Town Council, ensuring we have the resources needed to sustain our activities. As a result, we close our first year with a healthy bank balance, positioning us strongly for the year ahead.
## **Projects and Partnerships**
Looking ahead, we are excited to deepen and expand our community impact. Current and planned projects include collaborations with:
- Leighton Buzzard Pantomime
- Leighton Buzzard Light Railway
These partnerships not only extend our reach but also highlight the creativity, energy, and value that our members bring to the wider community.
## **Thanks and Acknowledgements**
On behalf of the Committee, I extend sincere thanks to all our members for their ongoing commitment, enthusiasm, and support. Your contributions—large and small—have been vital to our success.
I would also like to recognise the support of our funders, partners, and the Town Council, without whom this year would not have been possible.
## **Looking Forward**
As we enter our second year, we do so with confidence and optimism. Our Shed is thriving, our membership is growing, and our community presence is strengthening. I look forward to continuing this journey together—supporting both our existing members and those who will join us in the year to come.
