I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above
charity ('the Trust.) for the year ended 3151 December 2025.

St Peter's Clapham - Trustees, Annual Report 2￿25
2025 was a year of financial consolidation which also gave us the opportunty to stsrt the
work of repairing and renovating tKJth church and halls. This will not only make them safer
and more comfortable for those who use them but also, by making them more attractive
we hope to be able to rent more rooms in the halls for communtty and oth8r use. This
should also enable us further to increase our income. Our medium term aim remains to
have enough money to be able to repair all the roofs to a standard that should last for
decades. As the accounts show. St Peter's managed to secure an excess of incom8 over
expenditure for the year of over £18000 giving us &￿etS at the end of 2025 of over
£102000.
This was achieved desprte spending over £40QKK) on repairs and renovations to the halls
and £16000 on the church. In particular we were able to improve and extend the
lavatories for the use of the church congregations and to redecorate the choir vestry
which can now be rented out. A complete ov8rhaul of tho electrical systems in both
church and halls has also almost been completed.
We were also abl8 to continue our policy of annually increasing our parish contribution to
the diocese (from £60(XJ in 2024 to £9000 in 2025, an increase of 50%).
Despite being financially able to start work on repairing the roofs and undertaking other
necessary repair work identified in successive quinquennial inspections, progress has
been disappointingly slow although there are signs that work will actually begin in Spring
2026.
Rentals from both church and halls continue to be by far our major source of income,
accounting for 95% of our income. In addition to improving our financial position, this
approach has enabled St Peter's to become an ecumenical hub in Clapham. Five
Christian congregations regularly worship at St Peter's. In addition to the Anglican
congregation, the Orthodox parish of St Peter and St Paul and the monthly CTIC Taizé
group, every Sunday the Ghanamma Presbyterian Church worship in the church and a
Spanish-speaking Pentecostalist congregation worship in the halls.
All our lettings contribute to th8 local communty to a gr8ater or lesser ext8nt. The martial
arts club attracts many local children, the yoga and salsa classes satisfy a local n88d and
the support groups (CODA and AA) continue to be well attended.
