Activities

We promote social inclusion and empower parents and carers to improve their lives and their childrens futures. We offer ongoing, individual and group advice and advocacy, peer and mentoring support, wellbeing activities, parenting courses, and information workshops, including SEND parenting support. We continue the services we formerly provided through unincorporated charity no.1051440.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:4.1 To Promote Social Inclusion Of Parents, Carers And Children For The Public Benefit By Relieving The Needs Of Parents And Carers Who Are Socially Excluded And Assisting Them To Integrate Into Society, Including (But Not Exclusively) By Providing:(a) Person-Centred Advice And Advocacy;(b) Peer And Mentoring Support;(c) Well-Being Activities;(d) Parenting Courses;(e) Information Workshops;,(f) Education, Support And Training For Employment And Voluntary Work;(g) Language Classes;(h) Community And Family Learning;(i) Opportunities For Voluntary Service And Employment; And(j) Such Services And Support As Parents And Carers May Reasonably Require So As To Benefit Both Them, Their Children And The Community;for The Purpose Of This Clause “Socially Excluded” Means Being Excluded From Society, Or Parts Of Society, As A Result Of One Or More Of The Following Factors: Unemployment; Financial Hardship; Youth Or Old Age; Ill Health (Physical Or Mental); Substance Abuse Or Dependency Including Alcohol Or Drugs; Discrimination On The Grounds Of Sex, Race, Disability, Ethnic Origin, Religion, Belief, Creed, Sexual Orientation Or Gender Re Assignment; Poor Educational Or Skills Attainment; Relationship And Family Breakdown; Poor Housing (That Is Housing That Does Not Meet Basic Habitable Standards); Crime (Either As A Victim Of Crime Or As An Offender Rehabilitating Into Society); Language Barriers.4.2 To Relieve The Needs Of Parents, Carers And Children Who Are Experiencing Or At Risk Of Experiencing Poor Mental Health By The Provision Of Counselling, Mentoring, Information And Advice On Education, Personal Development, Finance And Opportunities For Voluntary Service And Employment And The Provision Of Such Services And Support As Parents And Carers May Reasonably Require So As To Benefit Both Them, Their Children And The Community;4.3 To Preserve, Protect And Promote Health Including By The Provision Of Information And Advice And Classes On Health, Nutrition And Child Care;4.4 To Relieve Poverty By Any Charitable Means, Including By The Provision Of Advice, Information And Support, The Provision Of Community Development Programmes And Child Care And The Provision Of Guidance On Education, Training And Opportunities For Work And Voluntary Service For Parents, Carers, Refugees, Ethnic Minorities, Displaced People And Other Deprived And Needy Groups In The Community; And4.5 To Promote The Efficiency And Effectiveness Of Charities Which Are Established For Objects Similar To Any Or All Of The Objects Set Out Above And The Efficient And Effective Application Of Resources For Such Object Or Objects By Promoting And Disseminating Programmes And Models Of Activity, Projects Of Good Practice Developed Or Carried Out By The CIO To Communities, Organisations And Schools Nationally And Internationally In Any Appropriate Form Or Format, And By The Delivery Of Services Generally.
