Responsibilities and
basis of report
As the charity's trustees, you are resportsible for the preparation of the
accounts in aco)rdance wrth the requirements of the Chatities Act 2011
fthe Act.).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carrted out
under secbon 145 of the 2011 Acl and in carrwng out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under se¢#ion 145(5Mb) of the Act.
Independent .1 have completed my examina*"on. I confimi that no material matters have
examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me
cause to believe that in. any matenal respect:
the accounting records were not kept in aC0)rdan￿ wth section 130
of the Charit¢es Act; or
the accounts did not act￿rd wth the accounting records: or
the accounts did not o)mply with the applicable requirements
con￿MIng the form and content of aco)unts set out in the Charities

The objective of the charity as outlined in the constitution is as follows:
YAHR'S object is the advancement of education of olderpeople and those retired from full-
time work, byall means. including associated actmties Gonducive to wellbeing. learning
and personal developmentin the Region. This will be mainly undertaken byproviding
support and assistance to the u3as in the Region and to the ThirdAge Trust's Regional
Trustee.
The Trustees are satisfied the objectives were met for the reasons outlined below:
The Summer schoolwas held to fuiicapacity over a four day period in August.
YAHR provided members to assistthe Third Age Trusts Council Members on a number of issues
including sitting on complaints tribunals. disciplinary hearings and assisting member u3as with local
issues..
A grant was awarded to three u3asto replace aging equipment forthe benefit of alltheir members.
YAHR'S managementteams meetingswere held at different locations around the region. with local
u3as invited to a buffet lunch followed by a Q&A session.
Fourworkshops were held duringthe year attended by between 35 and 55 u3a representatives. They
covered topics such as the future. group leadership. one size does not fit all. All costs associated with
workshops are covered by The Third Age Trust.
Plans for 2026 are well underwayforthe annual Summer School and furtherworkshops including
rustees- their roles and responsibility..
