During the reporting period, the charity did not hold a bank account in its own name. Charity receipts and payments were processed through a personal Barclays account held by Hilda Afua Kwoffie, with the trustees aware of this arrangement. The trustees are taking steps to open a dedicated charity bank account.
- b. Structure, governance and management
The charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Foundation model), governed by its constitution dated 22 April 2024. Its only voting members are its charity trustees.
- c. Objectives and activities
The charity's object, as set out in its constitution, is to advance the Christian religion for the benefit of the public in England and Wales through the holding of prayer meetings, worship and fellowship

meetings, lectures, public celebration of religious festivals, provision of pastoral care, and undertaking outreach and evangelical activities. During the reporting period, the charity carried out these purposes through regular Sunday services, prayer and fellowship meetings, a ministry retreat, pastoral care, benevolence support, and other ministry activities in furtherance of its charitable object.
## d. Achievements and performance
The charity held weekly Sunday services throughout the reporting period, serving an active membership of approximately 15. In January 2025, the charity organised a ministry retreat in Folkestone attended by approximately 20 people, providing opportunities for worship, prayer, biblical teaching and Christian fellowship.
During the reporting period, the charity also advanced its charitable purposes by supporting a range of ministry and outreach activities, including financial contributions towards a church building project in Accra, Ghana, a Christian ministry camp, and the Much Fruit Conference. The charity also provided pastoral care and benevolence support to individuals in need, including financial assistance following bereavement and honoraria recognising ministry service.
The charity supported the delivery of its services through payments to instrumentalists and other ministry-related expenses. It also facilitated donor-designated gifts to ministry recipients, including the Chair of the charity, where funds were received specifically for onward transmission in accordance with donors' instructions (see Note 2).

## e. Financial review
During the reporting period, the charity received total receipts of £22,813.34 and incurred total payments of £26,346.34, resulting in a net decrease in funds of £3,533.00. A breakdown is set out in the Receipts and Payments Account below.

- f. Reserves policy
The charity has not yet formalised a reserves policy. Establishing basic financial governance, including a dedicated bank account in the charity's own name, is a current priority for the trustees; they intend to consider and adopt a reserves policy once this is in place.
- g. Trustees' responsibilities statement
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Annual Report and the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and applicable regulations. They are responsible for maintaining adequate accounting records, safeguarding the assets of the charity, and taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

## **Notes to the Accounts**
1. Basis of preparation and bank account: This account has been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. The charity did not hold a bank account in its own name during this period. Charity receipts and payments were processed through a personal Barclays account held by Hilda Afua Kwoffie, a volunteer administering the charity's finances and not a trustee, with the trustees aware of this arrangement. The trustees intend to open a dedicated charity bank account and formalise the charity's banking arrangements.
2. Related party transactions — trustees: All three of the charity's trustees are counterparties to transactions recorded in this account during the period:
- a. Eric Jeshrun Okyere (Chair): at least £1,432.00 in donor-designated funds (people giving specifically 'for Reverend') were received by the charity and forwarded to him during the period (£800.00, 14 Jan 2025; £432.00, 22 Apr 2025; £200.00 within a £700.00 payment on 16 Dec 2024). These have been treated as pass-through of donor-restricted gifts rather than charity grants, and are not included in 'Grants to individuals' above. These transactions have been treated as the onward transmission of donor-designated funds and are therefore not included within grants to individuals.
- b. Olabisi Subaidat Jagun (Trustee): approximately £6,805.93 was received into the account attributed to her (predominantly regular tithes, offerings and seed donations under the reference 'Jagun O'), and £1,666.00 was paid out under her name or 'Olabisi', which on investigation represents onward forwarding of funds she had donated for specific third parties (OpokuAgyemang JA/Pastor Allen Opoku, £1,000; and a further £666 forwarded to the pastor) rather than payment to her personally.
- c. Cecilia Abdo (Trustee): £180.00 was paid to reimburse her for ingredients purchased to prepare food for charity events, where she acted as caterer without charging for her labour. This is treated as a trustee expense reimbursement under clause 5(1)(a) of the constitution, not a personal benefit, and is shown separately above.
The trustees confirm that these transactions were undertaken in furtherance of the charity's charitable purposes and were known to and approved by the trustee board where appropriate.

3. Unreconciled amounts: £500.00 (received 27 January 2025, bank reference 'Error') and £365.00 (paid 11 July 2025) could not be traced to a specific purpose and have been recorded as miscellaneous.
4. Balance reconciliation: an initial calculated closing balance for this account did not match the actual bank statement balance, a difference of £521.44. On investigation this was found to consist of (i) £21.44 arising from two 3 December 2024 transactions being counted both within the opening balance and as separate receipts, and (ii) £500.00 relating to a payment on 27 January 2025 (to Frederick Yaw Sarf) that had initially been treated as a duplicate of a sameday transfer but was confirmed to be a genuine separate payment. Both issues have been corrected in the figures presented in this account, which now reconcile exactly to the bank statement balance of £652.44 at 6 October 2025.
5. For a charity of your size using receipts and payments accounts, an independent examination is not required if you are below the relevant threshold. If you haven't had one, you don't need to apologise for it in the report.
