The above scripture defines the season we are in as the local Church –The Shepherd House Derby. We are committed about the need for growth, preparation and invest in good foundations for the people. Undoubtedly, there is a sense of achievements helping those in needs, while at the same time continuing preparation for others.
As we look to the future there is a real sense of faith and expectancy about what God will do. Therefore, our response is to remain dependent on Him and seek His leading as God continues to grow His church in Derby.

The Trustees of the Shepherd House Derby has the pleasure presenting their Annual Report together with the Financial Statements of the charity for the 1st July 2019 to 30[th] June 2020. The Financial Statement has been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies and regulations set out in this report and comply with the statement of Recommended Practices (SORPs 2005).
## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT**
RCCG - THE SHEPHERD HOUSE DERBY is a Charitable Organisation by guarantee, was established in June 2015, and became a registered **Charity 5[th] October 2018** with registration number **1180209.** The primary aims of the Trust are to advance Christian faith for the public benefit and to promote the need of the people in Derby community by providing various supports in line with the RCCG - The Shepherd House Derby. The Church is governed by its Trust Deed document adopted on **24[th] August 2018** . Appointment and Retirement of trustees are in accordance with the Article of Association guidelines that appointment and retirement should be by ordinary resolution. All Trustees shall give their time voluntarily and received no benefits from the Charity.
## **Objectives and Activities**
## **POLICIES AND OBJECTIVES**
The primary goals and objectives of church are centred on the promotion of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. In addition, the church has undertaken the relief programme to support those in needs in accordance to the doctrines and practices of the Shepherd House Derby.

The Mission Statement of the TSHD along with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) as follows:
“To advance the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, to preach the word of faith based on Biblical Principles and Doctrinal Standards of the Redeemed Christian Church of God religious organisation”.
## **Our Objectives are:**
- 1) To prepare God’s people for heaven by teaching undiluted word of God;
- 2) To empowering and equipping the people of God to live a sanctified and fulfilled life based on excellent and solid relationships with God;
3) To provide relief assistance to members of the public who are in need of support for the benefit of the public;
4) For any such other purposes considered beneficial by the law of England and Wales as the trustees shall continue to meet from time to time to decide new developments to support the people.
Our goal is to endeavour to reach out to more people from different ethnic backgrounds through various activities and to continue to increase our membership. It’s our desire aims to seeing the church growing in wisdom and power with the purpose to develop responsible generation of future leaders for the community and the nation as a whole.
RCCG - The Shepherd House Derby; its trustees, pastors, elders and members are committed to Holy living and the Fear of God. In doing this, we are determining to preach the message of holiness to our members our spiritual identity in God so that they can consecrate and sanctify their bodies unto God which is our reasonable service.

## **OUR FOUNDATION VALUES:**
As a Bible Living Church, we have a numbers of key foundational values which determine how we act and relate to one another as religious organisation. These core values underlie what we hope to see as a Bible living church:
Faith, embrace sinners, equipping, obedience, understanding other people’s values, evangelism, expansion, generous in attitude and action, love and raising people for kingdom advancement.
## **ACTIVITIVES FOR ACHIEVING OBJECTIVES**
The church has organised many activities which are directed at achieving our goals. These activities include:
Sunday worship services, Tuesday weekly Bible Studies, Prayer Meetings - Night Virgil, Ministers Prayer, Fasting and Prayer, Sunday School Classes every Sunday, Outreach Programme (Evangelism), Empowerment Youth Events, Health and Well-being, Women’s Conference, Marriage Seminars, Welfare – (With You We Can Make it Together), Singles and Couples Seminars, Charity Food Donations to the local community this includes, the Homeless people and those with Zero Poverty in the area. The church also organised Get-Together Party known as End of Year Christmas Party for all members, non-members and the public. We will continue to support other charities in need of help. Assist members and reach out to the general public through our support to our local food bank and other initiatives.
## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE**
In view of the global pandemic crisis which has been eminent in the year 2020/2021, it is important we understand that despite these challenges the church has made some significant progress in the terms of church growth and increase to charitable organisation. Some of these achievements will be mentioned briefly.

**Welfare Programme** : Through our welfare programmes the church has been able to assist the less privilege members in the church by providing financial support or gift to assist them in every possible ways. The beneficiaries are those in need of support for various reasons.
## **Providing comfort to the bereaved**
The Shepherd House Derby provides comfort to the bereaved by praying and supporting the sick and those in need.
## **This is relevant for the next year** .
The Church moved to her new premises in August 2020, this was a major significant achievement and was made possible through collective efforts of the members in realising this purpose. Since relocating to our new place of worship, we have continued to experience a major church growth both numerically and spiritually.
In addition to the achievements above, in November 2020, the church made a major achievement by purchasing her church bus to assist members to the church premises.
The Church supplied food and other essential items twice a week to those in need in the community and shelter homes in Derby. The Church under takes the supply of food to the people in the community every Saturday and Monday. This programme has had a significant impact on the community.
## **Children’s Ministry:**
We continue to support the children’s ministry of the Shepherds House Derby as it continues. As the children department continue to increase the church has committed to support the spiritual and the moral education of our children by encouraging the spread of Christian belief. The church have organised various activities to support the Children in different capacity which has helped a large extent. Through consented effort of the members, the Children have gained knowledge to Christian values and beliefs as thought.

Through a well-structured national curriculum for the children, the Shepherd House Derby has helped the children gain knowledge of God’s word both physical and social towards improving their faith. The weekly Bible study group and social integration have encouraged parents to bring their children to the church a huge achievement on our children’s life.
## **FINANCIAL REVIEW**
The financial statement is supplied to ensure that the regulatory requirements are met in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standards applicable in the UK. The Church is funded by its own members’ contributions which are needed to carry out church activities towards the church developments and objectives. Decisions on expenditure of the church are taken by a non-paid finance team. The church budgets as establish is monitored by the parish Pastor and external Administrator to ensure proper accountability. The Shepherd House Derby do not involve in any form of trading to raise funds for the church during the year. However, the church is deeply dependent on its attendees working as volunteers in all various capacities to support the church’s activities.
The powers of appointment or removal of Trustees rests with the Pastor with the approval of the Trustees. New Trustees are chosen from the members of the church or from the leaders of other local churches having common goal and vision. Following on from there, the new Trustees will be taken through the process to ensure that they understand clearly their responsibilities, and the legal and financial framework in which the church operates.
## **GOING CONCERNS**
After making appropriate enquiries, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.

For this reason they continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements. Further details regarding the adoption of the going concern basis can be found in the accounting policies.
## **AUDIT EXEMPTION**
RCCG The Shepherd House Derby is qualified for statutory audit exemption as its income for the year is below the statutory audit threshold. Therefore, these financial statements are unaudited.
## **RESERVE POLICY**
The charity has a policy of maintaining retaining at least a minimum reserve equivalent to an average of three months expenditure.
## **FUTURE PLANS**
The goal of RCCG - The Shepherd House Derby is to continue to see developments in the church. To improve the mission, the church has established a strategy programme that will help RCCG - The Shepherd House Derby facilitates its aim in outreach activities towards the growth of the church. More importantly is that, the church continues to provide support service in food supply to those in need in the community. Considering the future plan, the church is committed at organising seminars and other resourceful events to help improve the various departments of the church. These include evangelism group, holiday trips and visiting prisoners to strengthen and bring the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to them our main objectives.
## **TRUSTEES RESPONSIBILITIES STATEMENT**
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Practice).
The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period.

In preparing these financial statements, the Trustees are required to:
- select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
- observe the methods and principles in the charities SORP;
- make judgements and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
- sate whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements;
- Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the charity’s transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time of the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the charities Act 2011, the charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the provision and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINAR’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD – THE SHEPHERD HOUSE DERBY (the ‘charity’).**
I hereby report on the accounts of the church for the year ended 30[TH] June 2024, set out on the following pages which have been prepared on the basis of their accounting policies shown in the corresponding pages.
## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**
The Trustees of the church are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records and ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 1993.It is consider that the adult requirement under section 43(2)of the charities Act 1993 (the 1993 Act),does not apply. It is my responsibility to.
- Examine the accounts under section 43(3) of the 1993 Act.
- Follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissions made under section 43(7)(b)of the 1993 Act.
- State whether particular matters have come to my attention.
## **Basis of Independent examiner’s report**
The Shepherd House Derby (TSHD) is responsible for ensuring that the Trustees’ Annual Report and the financial statements are prepared in accordance with applicable law and the UK GAAP Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) for the United Kingdom.

## **Independent Examiner’s Statement**
Having completed my examination, I can confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with examination giving me cause to believe any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act; or
2. the accounts do not record with those records; or
3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulation 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a “true and fair” which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
In connection with my examination I have no concerns, and have not come across any other matters in connection with the examinations to which, in my opinion attention should be drawn in this report in order to allow appropriate understanding of the accounts to be reached.

**NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2024**
## **1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES**
## **1.1 Basis of preparation of financial statements**
The financial statements have been prepared to give a “true and fair” view and have departed from the charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only to the extent required to provide a ‘true and fair’ view. The departure has involved following the charities SORP (FRS 102) rather than accounting and reporting by charities. Statement of recommended practice effective from July which has since been withdrawn
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, items recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant notes to thee accounts. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice. Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial and Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and Charities Act 2011.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God – The Shepherd House Derby constitutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRS 102.
## **1.2 Income** :
All income resources are recognised once the charity has entitlement to the income. Therefore, it is possible that when the income is received the amount of income receivable can be quantified with reasonable accuracy.
## **1.3 Expenditure:**
All expenditure is accounted for once there is a legal commitment or obligation to transfer economic benefit to the third party. It is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is classified be activity. The costs of each activity are made up of the total of direct costs and the shared costs. Direct costs attributable to a single activity are allocated directly to that activity. Shared costs which attribute to more than one activity and support costs which are not attributable to a single activity are apportioned between those activities on a basis

## **1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES (continued)**
Consistent with the use of resources. Central staff costs are allocated on the basis of time spent, and depreciation changes allocated on the portion of the assist’s use. Support costs are those costs incurred directly in support of expenditure on the objects of the charity and include project management carried out at Headquarters. Governance costs are those incurred in connection with administration of the charity and compliance with constitutional and statutory requirements.
Costs of generating fund are costs incurred for attracting voluntary income, and those incurred in trading activities that raise funds.
Charitable activities and Governance costs are costs incurred on the charity’s operations, including support costs and costs relating to the governance of the charity apportioned to charitable activities.
All expenditure is inclusive of irrevocable VAT.
## **1.4 Tangible fixed assets and depreciation**
In respect to the policy fixed assets, a review for impairment of a fixed asset is carried out if events or changes in circumstances indicate that the carrying value of any fixed asset may not be recoverable. Shortfalls between the carrying value of fixed assets and their recoverable amounts are recognised as impairments. Impairment losses are recognised in the statement of financial activities.
Tangible fixed assets are carried at costs, net of depreciation and any provision of impairment. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following bases.
