Objectlves and activities The Trust's objective is lo advance the education ol children and young people through the operation of Oakhyrsl Grange School. The School prowdes full-lime education for pupils in the Early Years Foundation Stage, Pre-prep and Prep. Pupils benefit from a broad and balanced curriculum designed lo support academic prresS and personal development. Small class sizes enable pupils lo receive individual attention whlle also developing confidence. communication and group-working skills. In the Early Years. learning is SUPPDrted through slruclured play, creative activities and early exposure lo musi¢, movement, swimming and library visits. In Pre-prep and Prep. pupils build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum subjects, including cornpuling, music and French. The School promotes independence, responsibility and leadership through opportunities such as monitors and prefect roles. Enrichment opportunities include Forest School, swimming, PE, games. drama. music and a wide range of exlr8-curricular aclivilies. The School encourages pupils, confidence, crealivily and resilience, helping prepare them well for transition to secondary education. Achlevements and performance Sunificaiit activities and achEvements against objectives The Truslees consider the Charily's performance during the year lo have been 5alisfactory. Trustees have continued lo work closely with the Headmaster and lo use Ihe School Development Commitlee as a guide lo support improvement and maintain standards. Despite financial pressures, including the impact of VAT and pupil numbers not yel being al full capacity, careful steps have been tsken lo control expenditure and protect the long-lerm sl8bilily. Staffing levels have been maintained lo preserve the breadth and quality of the curriculum. The School has continued lo provide a full programme of sporting fixtures, clubs and activities, with pupils competing locally, regionally and nationally across a range of sports. A strong programme of peripalelic music. dance, ballet and LAMDA tuition has continued, with pupils achieving successful examination results. Pupils have also benefited from a wide range of performance opportunities. includlng assemblies, concerts, services and school productions, which have supported confidence, crealivily and wider personal development.

It is the wlicy of the charity lo maintain unrestricted funds al a level which is in excess of 12 months unreslricled expenditure. This provides sufficient funds lo cover management and adminislralion and support costs. unstrICted funds amounted lo £3,984,653 at the year end. Investment polKy The Trust Deed aulhorises the trustees to make and hold investments using the general funds of the charity, bul no such investmen15 beyond short term cash deposits are presently held. Majorrisks The Iruslees have assessed the m8jor risks to which the charity is exposed, in partlcular those related lo the operations and flnances of the trust and are satisfied that systems are in ptace lo miligale exposure lo the major risks. Structure, governan¢6 and management 08khyrsl Grange School CIO is a Charitable Incorporated Organisalion {CIOI, registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (Registered Charity Number 12111201. The charity operates under ils conslilulion, which sets out ils charitable purposes, powers and governance arrangements. This CIO was established in November 2024 to take on the assets and operations of the Oakhyrsl Grange Educational Trust, which would then be wound up. The Trustees oversee the management of the CIO. The full Governing Board of Trustees meets al least 3 limes a year. The work of the Board is supported by Commillees which meet half-lermly, prior lo full Governing Board meetings. There are presently two Commillees.. Finance and Eslale, and Education and Welfare. Each has ils own Terrns of Reference and laid down procedures. The Board has nominated a Responsible Officer IRO} lo sil on the school's Health and Safely Committee which reports lo the Finance and Estate Committee. The Goveming Board sets ils slraleglc direction via ils annual Development Plan. A separate "self-Revie, of practice, procedures and protocols is also part of the annual Trustee Strategy Day. The majority of the Fixed Assets. all other assets, liabilities, and activities of the former charity were Iransfeired lo Ihe CIO al book value on this dale. The objectives and activities of the charity remain unchanged, and the IrLJslees consider that th& change in egal fomi will provide a more robust governance framework and limiled liability for ils members. 1.1 Basls of preparation The financial slalements have been prepared in accordance with the charity's goveming document, the Charities Act 2011, FRS 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland. and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in accordance wilh the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 1021" The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102. The financial statements have departed from the Cha¥ilies (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only lo the extent required to provide a true and fair view. This departure has involved following the Statement of Recommended Practice for charities applying FRS 102 rather than the varsion of the Slalemenl of Recommended Practice which is referr8d lo in the Regulations bul which has SinGe been withdrawn. The financial slalemenls are prepared in sterling, which is the ftJn¢tional currency of the charty. Monetary amounls in these financial stalemenls are rounded Its the nearest £. The financial slalements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, modified lo include the revaluation of freehold properties and lo include inveslmenl properties and certain financial instruments al fair value. The principal accounting policies adopted are sel out below. 1.2 Going concern At the lime of approving the financial slatemenls, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources lo continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the iluslees continue lo adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial slalernenls. 1.3 Charltable funds Unreslricled funds are available for use al the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of their chariiable objectives. 1.4 Income Income is recognised when the charity is legally entitled lo il after any perfomance conditions have been mel, the amounts can be measured reliably. and il is probable that incotne will be received. The cost of providing benefits under defined benefit plans is determined separately for each plan using the projected unil credit method, and is based on actuarial advice.The TPS is an unlLJnded rnulli-employee scheme wlh no underlying assets lo assign between employers. Consequently, Ihe TPS is Irealed as a defined contribution scheme for accounting purposes and the contributions are recognised in the period lo which they relate. Critlcal accountlng estlmates and Judgements In the application of the charily's accounting policies. the Iruslees are required lo make judgements, estlmales and assumptions about the carrying amount of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent from other sources. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on historical experience and other factors that are considered lo be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates. The eslimales and undertying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions lo accounting eslimales aTe recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised where the revision affects only that period, or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and future periods. Membership is automatic for teachers in academy trusts. All teachers have the option lo opt out of the TPS following enrolmenl. The TPS is an unfunded scheme lo which both the member and employer makes conlribulions, as a percentage of salary. These contributions are credited lo Ihe Exchequer. Retirement and other pension benefits are paid by public funds provided by Padiamenl. Valuatlon of the Teachers, P8nslon Scheme The Government Actuary, using noTmal actuarial principles, conducts a formal actuarial review of the TPS in accordance with the Public SeNice Pensions (Valuations and Employer Cost Cap) Diredions 2014 published by HM Treasury every 4 years. The aim of the review is lo ensure scheme costs are recognised and managed appropriately and the review specifies the level of future conlribulions. Actuarial scheme valuations are dependent on 8ssumplions about the value of future costs, design of benefits and many other factors. The latest actuarial valuation of the TPS was carried out as al 31 March 2020. The Valuation report was published by the Department for Education on 27 October 2023, with the SCAPE rate, sel by HMT. applying a notional investment return based on 1.70h above the rate of CPI. The key elements of the valuation Dulcome are.. Employer contribution rates sel al 28.68% of pensionable pay linduding a 0.08% adminislralion levyl. This is an increase of 50/0 in employer contributions and the cost control result is such that no change in member benelils is needed. The result of this valuation will be implemented from 1 April 2024.The next valuation result is due lo be implemented from 1 April 2027. The employerfs pension costs paid lo the TPS in the period amounted lo £219,032, this amount is made up of TPS arrears and interest owed to the TPS. The Gharity is unable lo identify ils share of the undeilying assets and liabilities of the plan. Despite financial pressures, including the impact of VAT and pupil numbers not yel being al full capacity, careful steps have been tsken lo control expenditure and protect the long-lerm sl8bilily. Staffing levels have been maintained lo preserve the breadth and quality of the curriculum. The School has continued lo provide a full programme of sporting fixtures, clubs and activities, with pupils competing locally, regionally and nationally across a range of sports. A strong programme of peripalelic music. dance, ballet and LAMDA tuition has continued, with pupils achieving successful examination results. The objectives and activities of the charity remain unchanged, and the IrLJslees consider that th& change in egal fomi will provide a more robust governance framework and limiled liability for ils members. 1.1 Basls of preparation The financial slalements have been prepared in accordance with the charity's goveming document, the Charities Act 2011, FRS 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland. and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in accordance wilh the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 1021" The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102. The financial statements have departed from the Cha¥ilies (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only lo the extent required to provide a true and fair view. This departure has involved following the Statement of Recommended Practice for charities applying FRS 102 rather than the varsion of the Slalemenl of Recommended Practice which is referr8d lo in the Regulations bul which has SinGe been withdrawn. The financial slalemenls are prepared in sterling, which is the ftJn¢tional currency of the charty. Monetary amounls in these financial stalemenls are rounded Its the nearest £. The financial slalements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, modified lo include the revaluation of freehold properties and lo include inveslmenl properties and certain financial instruments al fair value. The principal accounting policies adopted are sel out below. 1.2 Going concern At the lime of approving the financial slatemenls, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources lo continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Membership is automatic for teachers in academy trusts. All teachers have the option lo opt out of the TPS following enrolmenl. The TPS is an unfunded scheme lo which both the member and employer makes conlribulions, as a percentage of salary. These contributions are credited lo Ihe Exchequer. Retirement and other pension benefits are paid by public funds provided by Padiamenl. Valuatlon of the Teachers, P8nslon Scheme The Government Actuary, using noTmal actuarial principles, conducts a formal actuarial review of the TPS in accordance with the Public SeNice Pensions (Valuations and Employer Cost Cap) Diredions 2014 published by HM Treasury every 4 years. The aim of the review is lo ensure scheme costs are recognised and managed appropriately and the review specifies the level of future conlribulions. Actuarial scheme valuations are dependent on 8ssumplions about the value of future costs, design of benefits and many other factors. The latest actuarial valuation of the TPS was carried out as al 31 March 2020. The Valuation report was published by the Department for Education on 27 October 2023, with the SCAPE rate, sel by HMT. applying a notional investment return based on 1.70h above the rate of CPI. The key elements of the valuation Dulcome are.. Employer contribution rates sel al 28.68% of pensionable pay linduding a 0.08% adminislralion levyl. This is an increase of 50/0 in employer contributions and the cost control result is such that no change in member benelils is needed. Total scheme liabilities Ipensions currently in payment and the estimated cost of future benefits) for service lo the effective dale of £262,000 million and notional assets leslirnaled future contributions together with the notional investments held al the valuation dale) of £222.200 million, giving a notional past service deficit of £39.800 million. The result of this valuation will be implemented from 1 April 2024.The next valuation result is due lo be implemented from 1 April 2027. The employerfs pension costs paid lo the TPS in the period amounted lo £219,032, this amount is made up of TPS arrears and interest owed to the TPS. A copy of the valuation report and supporting documentation is on the Teachers, Pensions website. Under the definitions sel out in FRS 102, the TPS is an unfLJnded mulli-employer pension Scheme. The Gharity is unable lo identify ils share of the undeilying assets and liabilities of the plan. Accordingly, the charity has taken advantage of the exemption in FRS 102 and has accoLJnled for ils conlribullons lo the scheme as if il were a defined contribution scheme.
