The Trustees present the annual report and financial statements of the Charity for the period ended 31 January 2026. The financial statements comply with current statutory requirements and the requirements of the Charity’s governing document. The financial results are set out in the enclosed accounts.
## **Objectives and Activities**
Daldhis Charity is a community-based organisation that supports people who are socially and economically disadvantaged in particular, but not limited to, people of Somali origin and heritage living and/or working within the London Borough of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham. Daldhis Charity provides free and impartial information, advice, and guidance on a range of issues including welfare, housing, immigration, education, employment, and training. We also deliver projects for all ages, including youth work and services for older people.
## **Public Benefit Statement**
The trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when planning and carrying out the charity's activities. The trustees are satisfied that the charity's activities during the period furthered its charitable purposes for the public benefit.
## **Achievements and Performance**
The charity was successful in receiving a grant for £13,455 from Sport England – Lottery Fund, which it aims to help deliver Dementia & Alzheimer awareness. The charity used the first year to establish a strong network amongst the community and has set itself up in the best way possible to achieve the most success in the coming years.
## **Review of the financial position**
The financial results of the charity for the period ended 31 January 2026, are fully reflected in the attached financial statements together with the notes thereon. Total Income was £21,149. Total resources expended were £2,995 resulting in net income of £18,154. On 31 January 2026, the charity has total funds of £18,154.
## **Reserves Policy**
The charity has total unrestricted reserves of £18,154, which provides sufficient cash runway for at least 6 months in line with the Reserves policy. The trustees review the reserves policy annually and consider the current level of unrestricted reserves appropriate to meet future operating commitments and unforeseen expenditure.
## **Structure, Governance and Management**
The Charity has been set up as a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) and is governed by its Constitution.

## **1. Basis of preparation**
## **1.1 Basis of accounting**
These accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant note(s) to these accounts. The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on 16 July 2014, and with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and with the Charities Act 2011.
## **1.2 Going concern**
At the time of approving the Financial Statements, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus, the Trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the Financial Statements.
## **2. Accounting policies**
## **2.1 Income recognition**
All the charity’s revenue resources are recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities when the charity has met the obligation and entitlement to those resources granted and the monetary value can be measured with sufficient reliability.
## **2.2 Tax reclaims on donations and gifts**
Gift Aid receivable is included in income when there is a valid declaration from the donor. Any Gift Aid amount recovered on a donation is considered to be part of that gift and is treated as an addition to the same fund as the initial donation unless the donor or the terms of the appeal have specified otherwise.
## **2.3 Donated services and facilities**
Donated services and facilities are included in the SOFA when received at the value of the gift to the charity provided the value of the gift can be measured reliably. Donated services and facilities that are consumed immediately are recognised as income with an equivalent amount recognised as an expense under the appropriate heading in the SOFA.
