CHARITY COMMISSION FOR ENGLAND AND WALES TRUSTEES REPORT FOR OLICANIAN CRICKEfAND SPORTS CLUB FOR PERIOD ENDING 31 OCTOBER 2025. OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES The prlm8ry purpose of the chaiity is the promotion of communty participation in healthy recreation by th& provision of facilities for plawng crickat. PUBLIC BENEFIT The trustees hav6 giv6n careful txnsideration to the guKlance issued by th8 Chartty Commission on public benefit: Membership of the club is open to all Gomers. We had 70 senior members (male and female combined} and 80 junior members in 2025. There is no test of skill for membership. Junior open trainirMJ sessions are hekl each Monday from April lo July. In addition 16 one hour'AII stars, sessions are provided for younger children durirKJ May. Jun8 and July. Just over 40 510 7 year olds were registered for this progrdmme. Senior open training sessions are held each Tuesday from April to September. Indoortraining sessions for all age groups, junior and senior ar8 arranged beeen January and March. The club benchmarks its subscriptions against other local srK)rts and cricket clubs to ensure affordability. No charge is made for spectators wishing lo watth matches. ACHIEVEMENTS & PERFORMANCE Th8 club was able to out a full range of L(oI4ng acbvtbes during the peri(Kl. The Club continued to enter a firs( second and third team in the Airedalo & Wharfedale Senlor Crlcket League with all three teams s8¢uring diwsional status. The first and SOnd teams played each Saturday during the season. The third taam played regularly on Sundays and provided an excellent bridge into senior cricket for junior players keen to progress. The first team athieved a number of rtable rasults lIst fjelding a team wilh several 15 and 16 year old players. The club has again run Ihe ECB (England & Vlales Cricket Board) All Stars Programme, airned primarily at 5,6 & 7 year old boys and girls. providing a pathway into the sporL The junior section continues to prosper under an enthusiasliG band of volunteer coaches. Teams at Under 9,11,13, 15 and 18 were fielded during the s8ason. Off the field the club continued a nUmtrr of social activities. principally focused on junior trainInrnatch nights on a Friday during Ihe season when the dub is w811 supported by parents. The club continues to host extwnal events which generate valuable revenue. These have included a corporat& r8coption for a leading local law fimi and a Brddford Council event in eA)nnection with the Bradford City of Cultur8 2025. The club has made its facilities availabie to the llder MMunity at nil or m&St Cost, including Ilkley & District Round Table and The Airedale & 1*vharfeda Cricket League's Umpires Association.
The club continues to adapt to our recently acquired charitable stabjs and is explorlng 0pwrtuniS presented by Gift Aid. The club continues to expkjre opportuniti8s for increased sustainabilty arKJ is seeking grant funding for a battéry to tnaximise energy savings in GonnecfK)n with our own solar generated electricity. The club makes facilitses available to Ilkley Overoptimists CC. a team of predominanuy 40 and 50 years old to play friendly crickel when our dub fixiure Ik8l permits. Th8 Glub hosted several age group fixiures for Yorkshire CCC Including a U15 fixture Vs Lancashirs ccc. Th8 club has engaged constructively with Yorkshire Water during Ihe period in connection with essential drainagelattenuation works to the Èastem erKI of our ground and which fall outside th8 playing area. This has, and may provide future opportuniti6s for ¢xmpensalion for inconvenignce. There may be improvement to the site for the muiual benefit of the club and Yorkshire Water going forwards. The club continues to recover from th8 devastating fire in 2019 which resulted in the loss of the pavilion and equipment. Replacement facilities of an excdlent starKlard have been providéd without resorting to borrowing. With this substantial undertaking in tha past the club now looks to consolidate a sound financaal footing moving forward. RESERVES POLICY It is the club's policy to run at a modest surplus. covering day to day running costs and funding the club through the close season. We are also building reserves over the medium lem to ensur& resilience and to provide funds for rnainlenance of the building. new infrastructure projects and replacement of aging equipment. PLANS FOR THE FUTURE The club plans to ent8r a team in a county wide over 50's competition. Tho club will continue lo invest in equipment and fai>libes that will enable it to improve the training and playing experience for all players and spectators. FINANCE Th8 trustees approved the Reipts and Payments accounts shown below at the clubs annual general meeting on 8th Decémber 2025. The club closed th8 year to 31-10-25 thith cash balances of £30.117, a considerable uplift from £1,664 at the beginning of the year. As shown In the accounts Sponsorship, Donations and Extemal Grants totslled in excess of £34,OW which is well above the business as usual level and allowed the dub to record such a high annual surplus of£28,453. A significant Percentage of this surplus will be used for future maintenance, infrastructure projects and rgplacement of equipment and is therefore consistent Wtth our rèserves wlicy. How8v8r it is not fomially designated as restricted fvnds under the charity commission guidelines.
