Wllllam W•rd School.. provided by Revd Heather
We continue to have a strong link with Bishop Wlliam Ward wimary school, through collectlve worship,
Prayer spaces, Year 6 Retreat and Governance. This yearfs Prayer 8pace$ was run in Septembèr and had
the theme of'wisdom, across 2 days all dasses (except Year 6) visited the prayer spaces and the
feedback received was amazing, the children engage deeply with the activities and both children arKI staff
seem to get a lot from the ts'me they spend In the prayer spaces.
The Year 6 retreat in July, was held this year at St. John's church again. and again the feedback received
was really positive. The PCC purchased the 'Moving on, booklets for all the pupils and Holding Crosses a8
a leaving gfft and a reminder for the pupils of th&r time at Bishop Wlliam Ward.
l am hugely grateful to the team of volunteers WI￿ assist in making both the prayer SF)aces and Year 8
retreat POS8ible each year.
I have continued to go into the school for collectrve worship (as well as Anne up until end of March 2025)
about Iwice per half temi (12 times a year), and also go in for special occasions, such as an Easter
Communion and the Christmas Carol services. which are spread over 2 servi￿.
Govemors continue to meet at ￿ast once per half term, and the foundation govemors have a strong voice

Apart from the annual maintenance rtem$', fire extinguishers, mower8, gutters and downpipes, roof alarm

consumed £1,686 frorn the PCC & thurchyard funds.
Further work undertaken at All Saints, included the clearance of ov8rgrown areas and small trees around
the churchyard amounting to £275. (the churchyard is partially funded by Great Horkesley Parish Council ).
Ragular grass cutting was also undertakon at a cost of £300 for the Wa￿er months.
The solution to the issue of Bats at All Saints. thi3 year has not progressed this year. We t¢)ok delivery of
alternative heated Bat boxes however th8ir installation has not yet b88n possible. We await estimat8s from
electricians to PAT test the boxes and the costs for their installation at high level above th8 north aisle.
Further progress on the heating solution as part of the All

satisfactory system has not yet been suggested by engineers. Following a recent meeting of the Project
team we have approached the DAC Secretary, Suzannah Meade, to see if we can break the Project down
into smaller parts to enable pro9￿$5 to b8 achieved on the Installation of the water supply. lavatories and
kitchenette. We are currently awaiting a re8ponse.
