|CHARITY OBJECTIVES|To promote social inclusion for the public beneft by<br>preventing people, particularly but not exclusively<br>men aged 18 or over, within and the surrounding<br>area, from becoming socially excluded, relieving the<br>needs of those people who are socially excluded and<br>assisting them to integrate into society through the<br>provision of facilities in which they can meet jointly<br>or individually to undertake creative, physical or<br>recreational activities, learn or pass on skills and<br>knowledge and support each other socially.<br>The Wedmore Men’s Shed meets twice weeklyat our|





||substantial premises where people can engage in<br>carpentry, maintenance and repairs, assorted<br>projects and gardening. Alternatively, they can just<br>meet for a cup of tea and conversation.<br>Day trips to places of interest are arranged on a<br>regular basis as is a programme of evening talks.|

|CHARITY ACTIVITIES DURING THE YEAR|In addition to our 2 weekly meetings and regular trips<br>and visits the shed members support local groups<br>and events in the village such as:<br>Maintaining parish benches and footpaths<br>Erecting gazebos, marshalling, lighting at the<br>Wedmore By Lamplight and Church Summer Fair<br>We have built a stage and marshalled an outdoor<br>performance by Wedmore Theatre Group<br>We have taken part Warm in Wedmore<br>We have worked with our local First School to build a<br>‘Sensory Garden’.<br>At the farm we have also developed a substantial<br>allotment with greenhouse, fruit cage, and beds<br>producing healthy produce free to our members,<br>while providing horticultural therapy for those<br>involved.<br>During winter months we have held a monthly<br>evening talk at a local venue for members and<br>guests,and these have been well supported.|
|CHARITY ACHIEVEMENTS, PERFORMANCE, PUBLIC<br>BENEFIT|The Wedmore Men’s Shed provides opportunities for<br>mostly senior men, some who live alone, to remain<br>active, to engage in worthwhile projects and<br>activities and to meet others. They are encouraged to<br>share their knowledge and skills with others and if<br>they wish, to learn new skills. Some projects as<br>indicated above involve the local community,<br>schools and parish, helping members to get out and<br>meet morepeople.|
|FINACIAL REVIEW|We started the year (30/9/24) with £6766.95 in the<br>bank and fnished the year (30/9/25) with £5410.56<br>giving a loss of £1356.39 on the year.<br>We are grateful to local organisations who donate<br>money to us: Bluebird Café, Wedmore Beer Festival,<br>Wedmore Power Co-op.  They put no restrictions on<br>how we use the money.<br>We do not have any debts.<br>This year we have registered with HMRC (ref<br>ZD35411)and now claim forgift aided donations.|





||We aim to keep around £5000 in the account to give<br>us a reserve which is unspecifed.<br>The main fnancial risk to the association is the<br>expiry of the lease on the premises.  Currently this<br>has 6 years to run but we fully expect it to be<br>renewed.<br>We do not hold any funds as a custodian trustee.<br>All committee members are volunteers, and we do<br>not employanyone.|
