Para 1.17 | To promote equality and diversity for the public benefit and in particular the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity by: 1) organising the annual LGBT+ event in Hexham and smaller events including social events for the LGBT+ community throughout the year. 2) helping to coordinate and promote LGBT+ activities in Hexham and surrounding area that conforms to our values of inclusivity and community cohesion. 3) building relationships with other charities, event organisers, and LGBT+ artists who share our values (as highlighted in our object) in order to increase wider co- operation and community inclusion. 4) to be seen as a source of information and respected to represent the community on issues affecting the LGBT+ community. 5) to be active in the LGBT+ community to ensure the voices of LGBT+ people living in Hexham and surrounding area are heard. Cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality and diversity to create a safe environment where LGBT+ people can promote and explore their culture, work, and art in the interests of the public benefit to remove any social exclusion. 6) when appropriate, to raise concerns and lend our voice to issues that potentially impact the LGBT+ community in a negative way. |
