## **1. Charity Details**
Charity name: Gift of Living Donation

## **2. Objectives:**
The charity exists to preserve and protect the health of members of the African and Caribbean communities living with chronic kidney disease (CKD). It provides support services, promotes organ donation, and raises awareness of kidney health. It also advances public education on CKD through workshops, seminars, and community engagement **.**
## **Main Activities**
During the reporting period, the charity delivered a programme of community engagement, education, and awareness-raising activities to support individuals and families affected by chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Key activities included:
- Participation in more than 10 community engagement events, providing information, advice, guidance, and signposting to members of the public.
- Delivery of six educational webinars aimed at increasing understanding of kidney disease, prevention, treatment options, and available support services.
- Contributions to community radio discussions, extending awareness messages to wider audiences and promoting public understanding of kidney health and organ donation.
- Participation in meetings with partner organisations, healthcare stakeholders, and community groups to contribute to service development and improve support pathways for affected individuals.
- Development and utilisation of a range of engagement tools, information resources, and educational materials to improve access to information and support informed decisionmaking.
- Continued operation of the charity’s choir as a community engagement and outreach initiative, with performances at six events during the year. These performances helped raise awareness of kidney disease, promoted the charity’s work, and strengthened community connections.
Collectively, these activities supported the charity’s objectives of raising awareness, providing accessible information and guidance, promoting organ donation, and maintaining a visible and trusted presence within the community.
## **3. Achievements and Performance**
The charity delivered measurable impact during the year through its awareness-raising, education, and community engagement activities.
Key achievements included:
- Direct engagement with more than 1,500 individuals across community events, educational sessions, outreach activities, and public awareness initiatives.
- Increased public awareness of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), its risk factors, prevention strategies, and available support services through sustained community engagement and educational programmes.
- Delivery of six webinars, providing accessible health information and reaching individuals who may otherwise have limited access to specialist kidney health advice.
- Expansion of the charity’s reach through community radio participation and public performances, helping to communicate key health messages to diverse audiences.
- Strengthened partnerships with healthcare providers, community organisations, and other stakeholders, enabling greater collaboration and support for individuals affected by kidney disease.
- Improved access to information and support through the development and distribution of educational resources and engagement tools.
- Continued promotion of organ donation awareness, encouraging informed conversations within communities and supporting wider public health objectives.
- Contribution towards reducing health inequalities by engaging with underserved and harder-to-reach communities and increasing access to culturally appropriate health information.
Performance during the year demonstrates the charity’s continued effectiveness in delivering community-based kidney health education and support. Through a combination of direct engagement, partnership working, educational activities, and public outreach, the charity successfully increased its visibility, expanded its reach, and strengthened support for individuals and families affected by kidney disease.
## **4. Financial Review**
Financial position: During the financial period, the charity received total income of £5,271. Total expenditure was £2,874, resulting in a surplus of £2,397, which has been carried forward.
Reserves policy: The charity’s policy is to hold a small level of reserves sufficient to cover basic running costs and timing differences between income and expenditure. At the end of the reporting period, the charity held unrestricted reserves of £2,397. The trustees consider this level appropriate and will review it as the charity develops.
Funds in deficit: The charity did not hold any funds that were materially in deficit during the reporting period.
Going concern: The trustees have reviewed the charity’s financial position and are satisfied that there are no material uncertainties regarding the charity’s ability to continue as a going concern. The trustees remain confident in the charity’s future sustainability and growth.
## **5. Structure, Governance and Management**
The charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by a constitution. Trustees are responsible for oversight and strategic direction.

Notes on the Accounts
The charity operates on a small scale and is in a development phase. Income consists mainly of voluntary donations.
All funds are unrestricted. No restricted or endowment funds were held during the year.
The surplus has been retained to support future charitable activities.
