Febrile Infeclion-Related Epilepsy Syndrome IFIRESI, a lomi of NewQnset Refraclory Status Epilèplicus INORSEI.
The charity also expanded ils support nefvlork for families affected by FIRES and NORSE across the UK. Increasingly.
families are being directed lo the charity and reactting out for support. reflèeting grt)wing awareness and reco9nrtion of
its work. By connectsng families, supporting the facilitat￿n of famity calls wlh the NORSE Inslitule. and offering
guidance and signposting, Ihe charty helped to reduce isoLgtion and ensure families felt better supported durin9 both
the acuts and long-term stages of this condition. including in ¢ases where a Iov9d one dotts not survive.
In relation lo research, the charity successfulty launched its £50.CKJO fun¢Jrai5ing campavJn to support UK-based FIRES
INORSEI Te5earch Through collaboration wth Igading clinicians and organisalions. Including the Epilepsy Research
Insbtulg, the charty ha5 contributed lo building momentum towards Improved understsnding and Irealmenl of this rare
and d&vasiatin9 condition. The chanty has also supported intemational research èfforts Ihrou9h engagement with the
NORSE Inslilute, contributing UK lived experience lo hdp inform global research priontses and collaborats'on.
Awarene88 of both FIRES, and ils umbrella term NORSE ,has also increased during the period through community
eng89emant. m¢dia coverage and digital aclivity. Tliis inclLKle(J sharlng Ilvea experience tnrough the publbcalion ol
rsonal FIRES diary entries, supporting awareness. education and connection for families affecled by this rare

sustainability and supports its Core aclivilies. Child￿￿ are hdentilied for support through school SENCOS, with tailored

appropriate boundaries and effecbve delivery. Consistendy wsilive feedback has been received from children, parents
and $¢hool¥, indicating improvements in mental and em01m￿al heatth, regula1￿1. confiutrnce and communlcaiion.
In addition, lunding 8nimal-a$$i$tod thgrapy visit# and hosprtal athity P￿k9 provided Gomfort and support to children
during hospital stoys, helping to reduce anxiety and improve overall wellbeing The charity5 hospltal-trased Creatlve
therapy packs are distributed in colL4bDralion with heathc2re profg.%sittnals including play spgcialisls and nursing staff,
who identify childcen most in need. Feedback from families and hospital teams has highlighted the Importance of these
resources in supporting emotional wellbeing. This initiative also supports awareness of the chanty and of FIRES and
NORSE and is supported by lo¢al ¢ommunty donation$. wilh the aim of developing a sustsinable. locally funded model
over lime.
Wider benefits to society include increased ￿Cogni￿On of a rare and under-researched condition, improved access lo
