The 5idcup Symphony Orchestra is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) which was estsblished on 8th October 2024. The new CIO will tske ovcrthe &8s¢ts of the existing charity also known as the Sidcup Symphony Orche5trd (Chariiy Registrdtion ), which was an unicorpordted b(xly, from I. August 2025. Th¢ governing d(Kument for the orchth is th¢ Constitution adopted at a General Meeting on the I September 2024. Objects The objects of the charity to improve. develop and maintain public education and appreciation of, the art and science of music in all its asr*£ts. Statement of Trus¢ee8 respon8ibiliti&¥ Charity law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each fITwicial yedr. which give a true and fair vicw of the statc of affairs of the charity and of the iTtcome and expenditure of the charity for that period. In preparing those financial statemenE the Trllstees are required to: select suitable accounting rx)licies and then apply them consistently. make jud8em¢nts and estimates that are reasonable and prudenL prepare thc fllEancial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Trust will continue in the for￿ceable future. The Trustees are reswnsible for keeping prO￿r acc(Mmting records which disclose with reasonable a¢¢uracy at any time the financial FK)Sition of the Trust and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with thc Charities Act 2011. They ar¢ also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Trust and hence for taking reasonable stcps forthe prevention and detecEton of fraud and other irregularities. Review of the ye8r During the year the orchestra did not operate thought th¢ CIO and ther¢ was no fmancial activity. Work was carried out to ¢5tablish new bank accounts so that a5￿ts of th¢ unicorFK)rated cbarity could IK transferred in 202516. No Trnst¢¢s ￿￿£1ved any remunerntioll during the year. Future developments In 2025126 the orehestra is planning to give five concerts in the season, and we will wntiDue to in¢lud¢ a family friendly concert in our progrdmme. We are wotking with other local organisations to help us itnprove the reach of this ¢onc¢rt. We are aiEttiRg to continue to build our local audience and maintain a balance b¢tw¢cn presenting works which will altract and entertain alongside new and more challenging pieces. We will continue to give perforniancc opportunities to younger ￿l01StS at the kginning of their car¢ers. We will continue to explore ways which we can WO￿ with local partners in order to encourage and 5UPPOrt young tnusicians Risk Management The Trustees continue to review the fmancial position of the orcheskn and will tsk¢ steps to ensur¢ that commitments are nol made which cannot be met.
