Para 1.20 | Community Distribution of Message in a bottle to individuals and Dementia Groups, Carers Groups. This increases the confidence of vulnerable residents and their families that should emergency services be called the identification and medical records are to hand. A secondary benefit to the locality is that by our charity’s involvement we have helped achieve Dementia Friendly Status in conjunction with a local nursing home. During the Christmas season the charity undertakes street sleigh runs and Santa visits to schools, Christmas fetes etc. Two scout groups have benefitted from this Environmentally we collect and recycle unwanted spectacles via Sight Savers. Usable items are distributed abroad as required. Unusable items are used to generate electricity and not sent to landfill Bras are collected on behalf of breast cancer Uk for distribution in this country and abroad The club provides support to the local 7 Pools 10K run in Sutton Park. This is in the form of funds for participants running numbers, planning and marshalling at the event. Funds raised are donated to KIDS children’s charity. We give time to support local charities as required. This includes The Hub in the local area. The Hub administers regular meetings for all community organisations to the benefit of communication and matching needs in the area particularly food banks. |
