Governance
The establishment of the Turing-welchman Bombe Rebuild Trust cio rrwBRT CIO) was
approved by the Charity Commission on 30th September 2024. The assets of the previou5
unincorporated Turing-welchman Bombe Rebuild TTUSt were transferred to the new CIO by
agreement of both sets of trustees.
The TWBRT CIO adopted a 'Foundation' model constitution with up to seven trustees. On
30th September 2024 sixtrustees were appointed and all continueto serve. No new trustees
have been appointed. All trustees give their time voluntarily and receive no remuneration or
other benefits.
Objertives

cryptography, codebreaking and the context of their use during WWII and associated areas
by preserviD& maintaining and exhibitingthe Bombe Rebuild and associated equipment in

The most numerous visitors are school parties. TWBRT CIO has developed presentations
suitable for school pupi15 most of whom are at Key Stages 3. 4 or 5. In addTtion, parties of
university students also visit the gallery. The duration of the visit and its content reflects the
varying ages and interests of the students. The other major group of visitors are adults.
Demonstrators welcome them and seek to ascertain their level of interest and to
demonstrate the artefacts accordingly. This can vary from brief overviews to extended in-
depth discussions with enthusiastsl The trust estimates over 22,0(KJ people visited the
museum last year.
TWBRT CIO relies heavily on the expertise of a small number of skilled trustees and
demonstrators who meet each Monday when the museum is closed to visitors to maintain
the artefacts. As almost all the equipment is electromechanical this is a continuing process
and involves both preventive maintenance and routine servicing as well as fixing the
occasional mechanical failure. Most of the trusys expenditure is devoted to maintaining the
equipment.
Over the period of this report the main artefacts have been accessible to wsitors whenever
the museum has been open with demonstrations on well over 90% of opening days.
Financial Review
TWBRT CIO received a financial donation from the previous unincorporated trust when the
latter was wound up. The CIO'S income has come largely from donations made following
demonstration visits provided to guests of commercial organisations.
The expenditure is mostly devoted to the purchase of spare parts and consumables for the
artefacts.
TWBRT CIO has a reserve policy to build up sufficient funds to safeguard the Bombe and the
other major artefacts in the event of TNMOC not longer being able to house the existing
gallery. The trusiees have not identified any signfficant risks to prevent it from continuing its
present range of activities in 2026 and beyond.
Dedaration
