PCC Report

The PCC has met 5 times since the 2025 APCM.

Membership was the Rector, 2 Churchwardens and 6 others.

Robert Cooles is standing for re-election to the PCC, having served 3 years. Bibi Antony is also standing for election to the PCC for the first time. Cax du Pon is standing down as a PCC member, and the PCC would like to thank Cax for all that she has done and continues to do in the life of the Church.

A new Parish Administrator (Fiona Fisher) started in post on 1[st] May 2025. Following the resignation of the Parish Safeguarding Oicer (PSO), and no volunteer wishing to take the role on, the PCC agreed to make the role of PSO a paid part-time role, and in November 2025 the Parish Administrator became the PSO in addition to their current role.

Following a data breach in August 2025 by the DBS provider to the Diocese, all DBS checks had to be suspended until a new provider was found. A new DBS provider has now been appointed, and St Nicholas Compton opted in to the agreement with the new provider in January 2026. The PSO is now working through those who need to renew their DBS checks and contacting those who need to update their safeguarding training. Reports on Safeguarding have been received at every PCC meeting. The PCC has complied with the requirements imposed by the code under section 5A of the Safeguarding and Clergy Discipline Measure 2016.

Eastbury Manor has been a time-consuming issue for the PCC, with no resolution yet agreed. It was reported at the most recent PCC meeting in April that the building has finally been sold, subject to contract. The PCC will contact the sellers and remind them of our prescriptive right of way across to the Church gate. The closure of the footpath giving level access to the Church has caused issues for several of our parishioners, and the PCC hope that a resolution can be reached with the new owners.

The PCC, led by Sally, has focused on Cave, Refectory, Road principles in its work:

Following on from this, the Church’s priorities for the next 2 years are:
