## **Trustee’s Annual Report**
## **for the period 16 September 2024 – 31 December 2025**
St Luke’s Mission Trust is a new charity established to promote the advancement of the Christian faith in local communities primarily in Formby, Liverpool and the surrounding areas. The Charity was registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) on 16 September 2024. It is a grant making charity seeking to support projects which are compatible with the primary objective and which can also demonstrate public benefit. The formation of the Charity was timed to coincide with the commencement of fund raising to support a prestigious inaugural building project. Unfortunately, the planning stage of the project has taken much longer than expected and planning permission had still not been granted at the end of the period under review. When it became clear that the inaugural project would be seriously delayed the decision was taken to postpone the official launch of the charity until the building project had been cleared to proceed. As a result no fund raising or grant making activities took place and the charity is not yet operational.
## **Objectives and Activities**
The objectives of the Charity as set out in the constitution are, for the public benefit, the advancement of the Christian faith within local communities and across the world but particularly in Formby, Liverpool and the surrounding areas by, primarily but not limited to, providing grants for:
- a) Projects that demonstrate a Christian approach to the practical, educational and spiritual needs of people of all ages.
- b) Projects that involve the adaption or improvement of church properties (including new build) with a view to providing improved facilities for use by the church and its work in the community in which it is based.
## **Achievements and Performance**
As explained above the launch of the Charity was postponed and no activities took place during the period.
## **Financial Review**
The Charity has not yet commenced operations and only one unsolicited donation has been received. At the end of the period under review the charity held negligible funds and no other assets whatsoever.
## **Structure, Governance and Management**
The Charity is governed by the Constitution dated 8 July 2024.
The Charity is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
On the appointment of Charity Trustees the constitution requires that:
- a) Apart from the first Charity Trustees, every Charity Trustee must be appointed by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the Charity Trustees.
- b) In selecting individuals for appointment as Charity Trustees, the Charity Trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.
The Charity has been established initially with three Trustees who also act as the Officers of the Charity. They would normally expect to meet no less than four times each year.
