Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit

The aim of our objectives is to provide a space for group communal practices to give the public a place to practice Buddhism. We also support other Buddhist organisations throughout the country to work together on mutual objectives in providing support to advance Buddhism to the community.

Summary of the main achievements during the period

Throughout the year we have hosted numerous communal practices Dharma services allowing the public to participate in Buddhist chanting. We have also had the visit from and to other Buddhist communities to help support and participation of each other’s events to help promote Buddhist teaching to the wider group of community.

We also benefited other charity organisations in the area by donating food bank collections donated by volunteers and members of the public at the temple.

During the year we have also re-furbished the kitchen at the operating address to provide better facilities for volunteers. The work was completed by our volunteers which help reduce the cost of outsourcing the work to a contractor.

Financial review

We are pleased to see that the financial position is in a surplus position which helps with the future growth of our organisation.

The charity’s policy on reserves

We have a threshold for bank balance to not be below £10,000.

Financial risk

– The charity organisation relies heavily on the donations from members of the public there is a risk that income for our organisation could decrease as it relies on donors ’ monetary donations.
