Bristol Keralites Association IBnsKAI is a non-profitable. non" political, social and cultural community organisation of the
people migrated from South India. Its membership Is open to the people living In Bnstol and surrounding area.. and
promotes the v4elfare of its rnembers and offer5 its services to wsder sooety Irrespective of ethnic ongin ènd backgmund.
8risKA was officially inaugurnted on 20th November 2010, by Bristd North West MP Miss Charlotte Lesley In the presence of
city Councillor Mr Mike Wollacott. CurTently there are nine neightr￿UrhrKx1 associatyons In and around Bristol affiliated to
8risKA. 8nsKA also have members who do not belon9 to any affiliated local aSSLKiations. Currenriy 8risKA has an executive
committee consisting of 20 mernbers Including President, Secretary. TreaSU￿r. 8risKA oryanises sports, èrts and cultural
activities for both adults and child￿n. BrisKA runs a dance class for children on a ¥Yeekly basis In Fii¢on and Bradley Stoke
with a nominal fee. Bri5KA has played key role in promoting arts. Sports and cultural actsvities for its member5. In 2024,
8risKA has been awarded CIO stattss by rhe Charity Commission for England and Wales.

Our music event, aptly ftamed as'utsavaravts. was on 6th AprTI 2024, at Alton Community hall. Started with the whole
committee appearing on stage and 11ghting the inaugurntion Nialavilakku. Music event was kicked off by young talents from
our BrisKA famlly follov4ed on by a variety ol programs by Kalabhavan Oileep and tearn, musicians from 8risKA family and
finished off by Charfes Antony. One of the highlights of the program was the hi9hly entertsining dance performances by
Desl Nach group who get the audience to dance in tune. Delicityjs loc￿ prepareil by Gijo Palatty was an added tK)nus to the
attendee5. Thls evenr ¥Yas well received by our cornrnunity and a big success at a small budget. We thank all our Sponsors
Infinity Mortgage, A-one Furniture, Mattanchery Foods, GIoDbal Food Mart. Zanky$ Deli. Eden General Stores, Quality Foods
and Dev's Kerala Resarurant.
8risKA School of Dance ho5 been functional ft*r many year5. however. recently the number of students hès dwlndled. The
senior classes for grade5 3, 6 & 7 is at Holy Trinity church Mall. Bradley Stoke on Saturdays. There Yrfere only 12 students In
2023 and two has dropped out leaving Just 10 eurrentlv.
8risKA started a new cla55 for beginners at the St Gregory church hall. Fiiron and thi5 is the first a time a new batch has
been started In few years. There are currently twelve studeThts. attending wularly ¢M Tuesday evenlngs.

8rlsKA started a new chess class for kid5 In March 2024. Dr Suresh has kindly voluntee￿d to tske the classes free of
charge. Though the enthusiasm was high initially, after few months the numbers had dropped. Even though we d￿n't insisr
on anyone paying fees to attend. #urnber of students dropped such that we touldn't continue it after the sutnmer break in
2024. BrisKA extends our thanks to Dr Suresh for his tift*, efftjrt and c¢*mmitsnent.
RAISIN
Ramesan Cherichal, Ikno¥rfn as Ramesan Chettanl loved by many of us, passed away on the night of August 15rh 2024 in
Southmead hospital In Bristol. He has two chIld￿n {Drupad, 19 years. Ka5hyap, 17 years). After his wife died of cancer two
years ago, the children have been living wlth their father in Bristol. As ctynpassionate human beings. living In the same
dtaspora community and caring for others, it was our duty to stand with Rarr*esan Chettan's fJrnily during this difficuir time.
To support his sons, BrisKA oryanised a fundraislng campaign and ¥Yith the generous contnbutyon of many from our
community and others, we raised £11658.07. While the fundraising has been 9oing on, BrisKA aévanced £5,650.00 ro
Rarresan's family for funeral expenses. After discussjons with thelr I¢￿1 9uardians. Ir's ag￿ed that the rest of the money
will be paid to the family as a monthly payment lor 12 months.
We celebrated Onam, the haryest festlval of Kernla. in our traditional way on Saturday 29th Septernber 2024 ar City Hall,
College Green, Brlstol. More than a thousand geople have taken part in this year's Onam celebrntions.
An arnazingly beautyful pookkalam. ￿pared by Babu va￿eY and team, welcomed our members to the venue. Our deliclou5
"Onam Sadhya- wifh 20 iterns prepared by Lokanathan & co Irom Taunton gave everyone è real experience of rraditlonal
Sodhya.
A Iiwe orchestra du￿n9 the Sadhya by the slngers of 8ristol also fr￿n Arnfath and team made this year's Onam
Celebratlon further attractlve and Impresslng to everyone.
Though at short notice. cont1uct*d vadamvall also which we couldn't do last ￿•r and was uncertain even on the day.
Though it delayed our cultural program stsrt, It's a huge sutce55 and speclal mentson to the sports committee and others
who took the initiatlve and helped organise tt. Wlnners were awarded Ray memonol ever rolling rrophy and cash prize
sponsored by U8MA.
Maveli arrived èi the programme hall wlth the presldent and the other committee m¢mWs and wlth the accompènSmenr of
our rraditional chendamelam.
Dennls sebastian, secretary welcomed evéryo￿ to the evefit. President Salan Sebasban delivered the presidential address.
SKA CIO registration certificate was presented dudng the event in the p￿senCe of all former presidents ènd secretarles
on stage. We were a150 very grateful to Mr Geromic Gevge IAS. former Collector of Thinjvananthapuram, ès the chief guest
of the day. Mini Scaria, arts club secretary. extended vote of thaTrks.
Cultural programs ¢ontinued svith variety of entertainments Including dan￿$. chain muslt by our own slngers and a skit by
Brentry and Henbury association. TV fame'Kesavnmamman' ak•ng with the rest ol Arafath and team provided additional
entertainment durln9 the program and treated u5 to a Ilve mu$le fèst to finlsh off the ni9ht.
Currendy a toral ol around 150 members have renewd their subscnptlon (mostly along with the Onam riekets and some
separarelyl. The tomrnittee contlnues ro encourage nevi members to Joln 8nsKA. We need a more concerted plan and effort
to get regular suoseription fees or renev4a15 from all our members.
We supported Noby & Joby In their'Big Dnve for chanty.. Br15KA sUPPOrted tlw'r flag off In Bdstof and prov4ded them BrlsKA
t-5hlrts and spread thelr lundraisifig campaign through our social F8 page antl WhatsApp groups.
