The trustees are pleased to be able to provide the Charitable Incorporated Association’s first Trustee’s Annual Report the period from the date of registration as a charity on 3 September 2024 to the end of the first financial year on 31 March 2025.

## **Structure, Governance and Management**
The Enfield Chasers Running Club Charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 3 September 2024.
The charity is governed by its constitution and managed by the trustees.
## **Objects and Public Benefit**
The objects of the charity are:
“The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of inhabitants of Enfield and the surrounding area by the provision of support services such as a safe support network, couch to 5k and training sessions; and facilities for athletics and running.”

## **Activities and Achievements**
The charity was newly established during the period. Activities continued to be delivered through the Unincorporated Association while transition occurred. Key achievements included growth to approximately 125 members and support for Couch to 5K, Beep Test and 1 Mile Time Trial events.
## **Financial Review**
The accounts have been prepared on a cash basis. A surplus was generated, largely driven by membership income and donations. For further information, please see the Charity’s annual accounts.
## **Reserves Policy**
Reserves are being built to ensure sustainable future operations.
## **Future Plans**
The charity plans to expand programs such as Couch 2 5K, host further events to encourage fitness, such as the 1 Mile Time Trial, Beep Tests and Cross Country, integrate all activities into the CIO, and then close the Unincorporated Association. Further, it is important to the Trustees to keep membership affordable.

## **Enfield Chasers Running Club CIO Unaudited Financial Report**
The committee is pleased to be able to provide the Charitable Incorporated Association’s financial report covering the period from the date of registration as a charity on 3 September 2024 to the end of the first financial year on 31 March 2025. Enclosed are Statements of Profit and Loss, Income and Liabilities, and Cashflows.
The Club’s financials over this period are somewhat complicated by the establishment of the Enfield Chasers Running Club Charity (a Charitable Incorporated Association (CIO)) and the resulting division of income and expenses across two separate legal entities. For almost the entire period that this report covers, the Club’s activities were run through (and costs met by) the legacy Unincorporated Association (UA). However, donations and membership renewals for the 2025-2026 year were received by the new CIO. Therefore, the UA ran at a loss while the CIO ran at a gain.
The Charity ran at a **surplus of £6,690.96** for the period.
The Charity’s net **financial position was £6,638.16** the end of the period. This figure is less than the surplus for the year as stock was ‘short sold’. That is to say, several items of stock were sold by the CIO before the stock of the old Unincorporated Association was donated to the CIO.
## Total **cashflows were £6,690.96** for the period.
The ‘Enfield Chasers Running Club Charity’ was established during the period. The Charity has received donations from members and their employers totalling £4,250.00. The remainder of the Charity’s income came from membership renewals.
There was little in the way of expenditure during the period as the Club’s operations were largely conducted within the legacy Unincorporated Association up to the end of March 2025.

Income from two small Merchandise orders was received to the CIO prior to the end of the financial year. Stock was ‘short sold’ to facilitate these transactions. That is to say, several items of stock were sold by the CIO before the stock of the old Unincorporated Association was donated to the CIO in May 2025.
There is a delay between cashflow being received on Stripe and paid to the Charity's Lloyds account. This causes a small mismatch between total cashflow reported for the period and the end cash balance held with Lloyds which is shown on the Statement of Assets and Liabilities.
Owing to the volume of membership renewals that took place in late March, this discrepancy was larger than would normally be the case.

## **3. Notes to the Accounts**
## **Basis of Accounting**
These accounts have been prepared under the cash basis accounting. Income has been recorded when it was received and expenses when they were paid out.
## **Memberships**
The CIO has **collected £2,115.00** in membership fees from its members. Membership expenses paid to England Athletics (the Charity must pay an affiliation fee £150.00 per year plus £20.00 per member for 2025-2026) fell into April 2025 and thus are not reported in these accounts.
Affiliation with England Athletics ensures that the Charity is covered by EA’s public liability insurance, amongst other things.
This means that membership fees have more than covered membership costs, which provides vital cashflow to help cover the cost of running the Charity.
## **Sales**
Income from two small merchandise orders was received to the CIO prior to the end of the financial year. As the Club’s stock was owned by the UA at that time, inventory has been reported as ‘sold short’ in anticipation of inventory being transferred to the CIO at a later date.
## **Grants & Donations**
The Charity received £4,250 in donations from members during the period which provides vital cashflow to help cover the cost of running the Charity. The Charity would naturally like to thank those who generously contributed to the Charity’s cause.
## **Training Fees**
Across **Monday night track training sessions, the 1 Mile Time Trial, they Hydrox Taster Session and C25K** the Charity has received **£395** . All expenses associated with the above were met by the UA.
