Trustee Report
The Trustees duly present their report and financial statements for the period of 29[th] August 2024 until 31[st] December 2025. The trustees have adopted the provisions and guidance of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (effective from 1[st] January 2019)
Achievements and Performance
Mercy’s Mighty Foundation was formed in loving memory of 6-year-old Mercy Cuthbertson, who devastatingly lost her life to a DIPG brain tumour in May 2024.
We are passionate about supporting other children and families who find themselves facing the same life-changing circumstances Mercy did. Through our fundraising, we work hard to ensure we are able to provide Craft Boxes to children with brain tumours and cancer, many of whom are receiving treatment on hospital wards.
Initially, our support was centric to the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne. However, after becoming a signposting partner with Young Lives vs Cancer, we now send boxes nationwide and have supported many of the major children’s hospitals and hospices across England and Wales.
The majority of our referrals come via Young Lives vs Cancer, which provides the charity with an important level of due diligence, as referrals are made by registered healthcare professionals within hospital settings.
To date, we have provided more than 325 Craft Boxes to paediatric brain tumour and cancer patients. The charity’s main source of income comes from fundraising events such as sponsored walks, family fun days, raffles, cake sales and non-uniform days. We feel incredibly fortunate to have been well supported and this generosity allows us to fund our ongoing charity activity.
In addition, the charity successfully secured grants in 2025 and 2026, enabling us to extend some support to children with rare blood disorders, while also helping to build essential financial reserves to provide financial stability should fundraising activity slow down.

Trustee Report
Going forward, the charity plans to focus on 4–5 key events each year to maintain a consistent financial flow and ensure we can continue to meet referral demand. Future events include Mercy’s Mighty Hike, a Family Fun Day, the Junior Great North Run and cake sales.
Our focus and motivation remain the same: to support children with DIPG, brain tumours and cancer by providing Craft Boxes that bring joy, comfort and stimulation during an unimaginably difficult time for children and their families.
We are immensely grateful to everyone who has supported our charity since its formation and look forward to supporting more children in 2026.

Public Benefit
The charity objectives are as follows:
The object of the CIO is for the Public Benefit, to relieve the needs of DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) paediatric brain tumour patients and their families in England and Wales by promoting and protecting good physical and mental health and by any other means as the trustees in their discretion shall determine.
Financial Review
The cash reserves of the charity at the end of the report period are adequate to support the continuation of current activities.
Governing Document
The charity is controlled by its governing document dated 29[th] August 2024 and constitutes a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO).

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of Mercy’s Mighty Foundation
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Mercy's Mighty Foundation for the period ended 31 December 2025.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the trusts accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent Examiners Statement
In connection with my examination, I confirm that no matters have come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect:

The accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
The accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts & Reports) Regulations other than any requirement that the accounts give a “true and fair view” which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

Fund Accounting
Funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.
Trustee Remuneration and Benefits
There were no financial benefits or any other form of renumeration paid to any trustees during the period of 29[th] August 2024 – 31[st] December 2025.
Trustee Expenses
There was no trustee expenses paid during the period of 29[th] August 2024 – 31[st] December 2025.
Charity Assets and Liabilities
The charity has no assets (other than available funds in the charity bank account) and has no liabilities.
Future Charity Commission Reporting
The next report to the Charity Commission will cover the period of 1[st] January 2026 – 31[st] December 2026 and will adhere to the reporting requirements set by The Chairty Commission.
Serious Incident Reporting
There have been no serious or significant incidents involving or regarding the charity during the reporting period of 29[th] August 2024 – 31[st] December 2025
