**Total cash and assets:**|||||| ## **Trustees Annual Report – Year 2024/2025** We have had a very successful year from April 2024 to March 2025. 1. The main expenditure for the year was the renovation of the old showhut that was only used once a year to a building that can now be used anytime for all kinds of purposes. It will not be completed until later this year but we are looking forward to being able to hold all kinds of events and members being able to use it whenever they wish to sit and chat with their allotment colleagues or just have a quite moment to rest. 2. We have this year spent a lot of time working with Action Together in enabling us to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. We completed this at the end of November 2024 which we hope will enable us to grow into a better community. 3. We also worked with Action Together to help us apply for funding to celebrate Volunteers Week. We were successful in receiving £300 which we were very grateful for and this enabled all our volunteers to be treated to an afternoon lunch which was very much enjoyed. 4. We arranged an outing to Southport Flower Show in July for our members which although the weather was horrendous, this didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of everyone attending. 5. We opened our doors to the wider community to celebrate our Annual Vegetable and Flower Show. It was a great success and many fabulous exhibits were shown. Lots of members attended with their family and friends and it gave us a great opportunity for everyone to get together and celebrate all the hard work they had achieved in this growing season. It gives us an opportunity to raise some funds for the allotment by auctioning off all the exhibits at the end of afternoon. We were then able to donate £100 to the local Foodbank and put some of the funds toward the renovation of the old showhut. We would to thank the Major and his wife for attending our show and awarded the trophies to well deserving members for their show winning exhibits. 6. One of our members works with mums whose children attend a local school. Perhaps mums whose English is not their first language and they are shown how food is grown and taught how to cook the fresh produce. 7. We have worked with the local Government who have helped us in working with the local Payback team. We have found this to be a mutual benefit to both our members on site and to the hard working members of Payback. They have helped us to keep the site tidy and helped some members when perhaps they have not been physically able to keep their plots to standard e.g. illness etc. We feel that it has also been beneficial to the payback team whereby they have worked with our members learning skills that maybe they haven’t used before. 8. We have had several local Scout groups visit the site and have been able to learn how food is grown and have been shown and joined in planting seeds. They have great enthusiasm and have shown great interest. 9. Our on site Stores continues to be a great success. This does help members purchase all their growing needs at cost so is also cheaper for them. It is run by volunteer members from the plot who we would like to thank for all their hard work. They also give great advice to all members if needed. 10. We once again had our Annual Christmas Party. This was really well attended and great fun was had by all. It gives members a chance to have a good chat with members who perhaps they wouldn’t see generally, and everyone has a chance to get to know each other better.
