## **Achievements and Performance**

## **Activities**

## **Rehearsals**

The rehearsals have been continuing to take place at Arden Dies, Shepley Street, Marple. Many players were unhappy going back to a cramped and poorly ventilated band room and the new venue was a lot safer for players who were vulnerable. The band are staying there for the foreseeable future. No subscription/membership charge is made to members as they want to ensure anyone can access the band . Free instruments and uniforms are also provided or all members

Several Open rehearsals were made available for July and August rehearsal dates for anyone from the local area.

Rehearsal nights are on Tuesday and Friday evenings. However, a trial for a couple of months is taking place on Thursday evenings instead of Fridays.

## Note 1

The Marple Band was registered as a CIO with the Charity Commission 23 August 2024, the band having previously operated as part of another charity, The Brass Bands of Marple. The 'opening balance' at 23 August was a donation from the Brass Bands of Marple of the sums earned by the band when it was still a part of that charity.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner’s statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or

2. the accounts do not accord with those records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
