2. Structure, Governance & Management
The BPABG represents clinicians working in paediatric and adolescent metabolic bone health. The organisation meets twice yearly to share clinical expertise, research updates, and guidance relevant to children with bone and mineral disorders. Its governance follows the requirements for UK-registered charitable organisations, with trustees responsible for strategic oversight, financial stewardship, and ensuring charitable compliance
Members express an interest in joining or renewing their involvement with the BPABG on a cyclical basis. Eligible members participate in the governance of the organisation. The charity maintains a Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) account to support secure and responsible income and expenditure management
3. Charitable Objectives (as per Constitution)
“The advancement of health, for the public benefit, in the treatment and management of paediatric and adolescent bone disease and related disorders by advancing the education and clinical practices of healthcare professionals through the organisation of meetings, conferences and online workshops, providing up-to-date information on current and emerging treatment and research to inform healthcare professionals and the production of guidelines on the treatment and management of paediatric and adolescent bone disease.
The charity had 23 elected members during this reporting cycle
Membership fees are £50 for consultants, £25 for resident doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.
