Trustee Recruitment
Every charity trustee must be a natural person.
No individual may be appointed as a charity trustee of the CIO:

if he or she is under the age of 16 years; or
No one is en�tled to act as a charity trustee whether on appointment or on any re-appointment un�l he or she has expressly acknowledged, in whatever way the charity trustees decide, his or her acceptance of the office of charity trustee.
At least one of the trustees of the CIO must be 18 years of age or over. If there is no trustee aged at least 18 years, the remaining trustees may only act to call a mee�ng of the charity trustees, or appoint a new charity trustee.

To promote the educa�on and training of people in the United Kingdom, in par�cular (but not exclusively) those who would otherwise not have access to such by reason of poverty or social and economic circumstances. Our first pillar is that of EDUCATION.

The relief of sickness and the preserva�on of physical and mental health among people in the United Kingdom. Our second pillar is that of HEALTH.

To promote the conserva�on protec�on and improvement of the physical and natural environment in par�cular by promo�ng and suppor�ng ini�a�ves to mi�gate the detrimental effects of climate change; in such ways as the charity trustees think fit by the making of grants. Our third pillar is that of CONSERVATION.
All three of our charitable pillars – EDUCATION, HEALTH, CONSERVATION carry equal value.
We will seek out organisa�ons and donate funds to them and they in turn will promote these pillars in our communi�es.
Financial Review
The Coreus Founda�on generated income during the period by pu�ng on fundraising events and ac�vi�es. The first big ac�vity undertaken was 18 members of staff from Coreus Group and C Squared Construct comple�ng a 50 mile walk over a stretch of the south west coast path which raised over £16k.
The Founda�on also ran a number of events to generate income for the founda�on. These consisted of gameshow nights, a golf day & team challenges amongst Coreus Group staff members. These managed to generate addi�onal funds over £7k a�er the costs of pu�ng on the events.
commi�ed to dona�ng 1% of annual profits to the founda�on. During the repor�ng period we have recognised dona�ons from the 23/24 and 24/25 years which equated to over £11.5k. Alongside this Coreus Group have made addi�onal dona�ons and their staff �me to run the founda�on events.
£25,620 of dona�ons were made this period from the founda�on.
Reserves
The current policy is to distribute the surplus funds available to chari�es and organisa�ons working within our three key pillars of Educa�on, Health and Conserva�on.
We will keep a small reserve sum to pay for charitable ac�vi�es and events.
Reserves held at the year end are £9,039, with £3,799 readily available.
Risk Management
The trustees do not consider that the charity is exposed to any major risk. We are mindful of the normal business risks of cyber security and financial viability.
Statement of Trustee Responsibili�es

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accoun�ng records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any �me the financial posi�on of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Chari�es Act 2011 and the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regula�ons and the trust deed.
Trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the preven�on and detec�on of fraud and other irregulari�es.

The total donated amounted to £26,620.
Organisa�ons were mainly from the educa�on ‘pillar’.
In the coming years, we will seek to equally support the other pillars of health and conserva�on.
Future plans for the year 2026/7 are to again raise funds through a series of well-planned events.

In 2025 we received 32 applica�ons for funding.

In December 2024 Trustees produced a list of 4 poten�al na�onal chari�es.
Employees selected Alzheimer’s UK for 2025. So, this was our charity of the year for the full year 2025.
We have money to award to Alzheimer’s UK – 20% of the money that is available to donate.
We will again support a na�onal charity in 2026, chosen from a list supplied by Trustees to employees. Employees will vote.
The successful na�onal charity will again be granted 20% share of all funds that are available to donate in 2026.

The annual Exeter ‘Games Show Night’ - July – a hugely successful evening with 30 local companies coming together to take part in Quiz / Games Night organised by the employees of Coreus – entry fees, raffles and dona�ons to auc�on

Countryside / coastal charity walk - May 2026 – as in 2024 – employees will be encouraged to raise money through an open ‘Just Giving’ page or similar for a long distance walk in the South West – a bi-annual event

Birmingham to again invite local companies to take part in a night of sponsored darts

Basis of prepara�on
Basis of prepara�on of accounts and considera�on of going concern. The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost conven�on with items recognised at cost or transac�on value unless otherwise stated in the relevant note(s) to these accounts.
Prac�ce: Accoun�ng and Repor�ng by Chari�es preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Repor�ng Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on 16th July, 2014 and the Chari�es Act 2011.
The Trustees have chosen to early adopt the Update Bulle�n 1 issued by the Chari�es Commission on 2nd February, 2016 which exempts the charity from the need to prepare a Statement of Cash Flows.

Income
All income is recognised once the charity has en�tlement to the income, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably.
Liabili�es
Liabili�es are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or construc�ve obliga�on commi�ng the charity to that expenditure, it is probable that se�lement will be required and the amount of the obliga�on can be measured reliably. All expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis.

No trustees received any remunera�on during the year. No trustees received any expenses. There were no payments to related par�es.
