2. Governance and Management
The charity is governed by constitution, as registered at the point of application to establish the charity.
Trustees are appointed in accordance with this document and meet regularly to oversee the charity’s activities and finances.
3. Objectives and Activities
The Longstone Area Sports and Recreation Association was formed to encourage sport, recreation, promote well-being and social interaction for all the people of the local area. We aim to make these sustainable and enhance the experience through raising funds and improving facilities.
The need arose from the collapse of the Great Longstone Cricket Club that transferred the assets and responsibility of maintaining the facilities. These assets are being used to increase

the use of the recreation ground, expand the type of use and engender a community led agenda
During this financial year, the charity carried out the following activities:

Registered formerly as a charity CIO,

Created and submitted the constitution,

Agreed Rental of buildings and maintenance contract for maintenance of the recreation ground with Great Longstone Parish Council

Set up charity bank accounts (Current and Savings)

Took over responsibility for utilities (Water and Electric)

Took out required Insurance for buildings and equipment
-
Established working groups for Buildings and ground maintenance and Safeguarding.

Undertook Remedial work to bring the buildings up to a usable standard,
-
Renewed the cricket square to bring it up to a playable standard, for next season.

Initiated plans in conjunction with the Parish Council to resurface the tennis courts (quotes obtained)

Started on plans for an open day to encourage use of the recreation ground and establishing youth cricket
4. Achievements and Performance
To promote the charity, the facilities and what the recreation ground could do for the community, we held an open day in July 2024. The day attracted around 300 people who took part or spectated a range of sporting activities. It was a very successful event and showed the scale of enthusiasm by all for the recreation ground to be reinvigorated.

The charity has no debts and maintains a small reserve to support future activities.
6. Reserves Policy
The trustees aim to hold a minimum reserve of £3500 to cover essential costs and ensure continuity of operations. These costs are Insurance, Utilities, Essential equipment and building maintenance.
7. Other Legal and Administrative Information
- The charity does not act as a custodian trustee.

Notes to the Accounts

Accounting basis: These accounts are prepared on a receipts and payments basis, suitable for small charities.

Restricted funds: Donations : £100 donation requested to support cricket coaching for young people

Other notes: Income grants received included funds for set up from Little Longstone Parish Council, Derbyshire Dales County Councillor, and residual funds from Great Longstone Tennis Club that had been disbanded, These funds were held by Great Longstone Parish Council until banking facilities for LASRA were established.

Other notes: Assets: The Buildings (Tea hut and changing rooms) are held by Great Longstone Parish Council and so not listed as an asset. They have a declared value on Insurance of £90,000 and sum insured value of £99,000. Insurance paid by LASRA. Equipment gifted to LASRA e.g. Mowers and Rolling equipment have declared value of £25000 on insurance (insured value of £27500. The former value has been used in Statement of Assets and Liabilities.
