The charity is governed by constitution, as registered at the point of application to establish the charity.

Trustees are appointed in accordance with this document and meet regularly to oversee the charity’s activities and finances.

3. Objectives and Activities

The Longstone Area Sports and Recreation Association was formed to encourage sport, recreation, promote well-being and social interaction for all the people of the local area. We aim to make these sustainable and enhance the experience through raising funds and improving facilities.

The need arose from the collapse of the Great Longstone Cricket Club that transferred the assets and responsibility of maintaining the facilities. These assets are being used to increase

the use of the recreation ground, expand the type of use and engender a community led agenda

During this financial year, the charity carried out the following activities:

4. Achievements and Performance

To promote the charity, the facilities and what the recreation ground could do for the community, we held an open day in July 2024. The day attracted around 300 people who took part or spectated a range of sporting activities. It was a very successful event and showed the scale of enthusiasm by all for the recreation ground to be reinvigorated.

5. Financial Review

The charity has no debts and maintains a small reserve to support future activities.

6. Reserves Policy

The trustees aim to hold a minimum reserve of £3500 to cover essential costs and ensure continuity of operations. These costs are Insurance, Utilities, Essential equipment and building maintenance.
