## Introduction 

DEMENTIA FRIENDLY HAVANT BOROUGH presents their report and unaudited financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2025. 

The legal and administrative information set out on below forms part of this report. The financial statements comply with current statutory requirements, the CIO’s governing constitution, the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 and the Charities SORP (FRS 102). 

## Reference and administrative details 

DEMENTIA FRIENDLY HAVANT BOROUGH operates as part of DEMENTIA FRIENDLY HAMPSHIRE a CIO registered with the Charity Commission in England and Wales on 19 August 2024 and commenced operation on 1 September 2024. 

The CIO was established under a governing constitution, which established the objects and powers of the CIO.

Dementia Friendly HAVANT BOROUGH: 

## **Objects of the Group** 

## **Our Objective** 

To inspire and drive forward the development of the Dementia Friendly Communities project within HAVANT BOROUGH: 

To promotion of social inclusion for the public benefit of people diagnosed with Dementia within Havant and its environs who are excluded from society, or part of society, as a result of their illness by: - 

- raising public awareness of the issues affecting people living with dementia and their families, both generally and in relation to their social exclusion, by providing and promoting: - education; information; Awareness campaigns; workshops; forums; and other events which will encourage communities to be generally more accepting of and confident in engagement ; 

- Supporting the development of local network groups and linking groups to enable them to make a more effective and joined up approach. 

- Supporting the increase and coordination of opportunities for people affected by dementia to engage with their communities and to enable those communities to adapt services to better meet their needs. 

- Supporting development and improvement of facilities and services to maximise social and recreational opportunities for people affected by dementia; and 

Running Meeting Centres, Support groups, and other dementia accessible activities within the town 

## **Our vision** 

To enable the Groups objectives by raising public awareness of the issues faced by people with dementia and their families. Supporting the increase and co-ordination of opportunities for people affected by dementia to engage within the communities and enable those communities to adapt services to better meet their needs, 

## **Background** 

Dementia Friendly HAVANT BOROUGH was formed in 2023 to bring together the Dementia Friendly work across the borough and to seek Charity status. 

## **Public Benefit** 

The information and support we offer are aimed at encouraging organisations to take responsibility for making their organisations’ dementia friendly. We seek to ensure people affected by dementia are given a voice. We explore innovative projects to support people with dementia to live as well as possible.

## **Achievements and performance** 

## **Supporting Dementia Friendly Communities within HAVANT BOROUGH:** 

## **Dementia Information Day:** 

DFHB in partnership with HBC and supported by Dementia Friendly Hampshire has developed an annual Havant Dementia Information Day to bring together in one place information, services, advice and support for people living with dementia, their families and carers. 

## **Dementia Friendly activities:** 

Working alongside partners within the Borough, DFHB is working to develop a Meeting Centre within the Borough. Meeting Centres have been shown to have a positive impact on people living with dementia, their families, supporters and carers in the months immediately following their diagnosis. 

## **Financial review** 

For the financial year ended 31 March 2025 the total income in the period was £965.00 and there was administrative expenditure of £72 during 2024-25. This resulted in a Net income of £893 for the financial year ended 31 March ,2025. 

Total funds at 31 March 2025 were £1,450 

## **Reserves Policy** 

The group aims to maintain minimum reserves equating to 3 months running costs. 

There are no salary, mortgage or rent liabilities.
