The trustees are responsible for the strategic direction and oversight. The board consists of three trustees, who give their time voluntarily and receive no remuneration or benefits from the charity. There were no changes to the board during the year. Trustees met twice during the period and were briefed on activities undertaken by the aligned South African non-profit entity. No formal induction or training was required given the charity's early stage. Trustees monitor the fundraising challenges faced by new and niche charities; no material risks were identified this year. ## **Purposes and Activities:** The charity's purposes, as set out in its constitution, are for the public benefit to promote humane behaviour and the care and welfare of wild and companion animals living in captivity in not-for-profit animal rescue centres by providing environmental and dietary enrichment for such animals and related practical training and guidance for their guardians. During the year, the UK charity remained in a preparatory phase with no direct funds received or projects rolled out. Strategic preparatory work was advanced through the aligned South African registered non-profit, including negotiating and securing agreements for three projects ready for implementation once funding is available, obtaining letters of support from prominent rescue centres, and attending events in the welfare sector to introduce the work and foster discussions. Trustees are satisfied with the momentum built via the South African entity in securing ready-to-implement projects and endorsements, which will enable future public benefit delivery through improved welfare for captive animals, benefiting conservation, education, and society more broadly. In planning these steps, trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission's public benefit guidance. ## **Financial Review:** The only transaction during the year was a temporary transfer of £24 from a trustee into the charity's bank account, which was reversed upon confirmation that no bank charges would apply until later in the year. There was no income received, no expenditure incurred, no assets held, and no debts. Due to the charity's early stage and lack of funds, no formal reserves policy is in place at present; trustees will develop one as resources and activities grow. The trustees approve this report, confirming it provides a true and fair view of the charity's affairs. Hence the Trustees report no real financial activity.
