Structure, Governance and Management Holy Rood Parent and Friend Association is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by a constitution last amended on 18 July 2024. The charity is managed by its trustees, who are elected and appointed in accordance with the provisions of the constitution. Trustees are responsible for the overa15 governance and management of the charity and for ensuring that its activities further its charitable purposes. New trustees are provided with a copy of Ihe constitution and relevant information regarding the operation and responsibilities of the charity in accordance with the charity's governing document.
No external individual or organisation has the right to appoint Irustees. 3. Objectives and Activities Objects The object of the charity is: To advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by.. Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associaled with the school., and Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils. Public Benefit The trustees confirm that they have had due regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit when exercising their powers and duties. The charity seeks to provide public benefit by supporting the educational experience of pupils at Holy Rood School, strengthening links between parents, staff and the wider school community, and raising funds to provide additional resources, facilities and opportunities that enhance pupils, education. 4. Achievements and Performance During the year, the charity continued to support Holy Rood School through fundraising activities and community engagement initiatives. Activities undertaken during the year included.. Fundraising events such as school discos, cake and ice cream sales and film nights. Events engaging wilh the wider community such as the Christmas Fayre and Raffle, and Easter and Jubilee Day Celebrations. Funding of equipment, resources and projects within Holy Rood School. Funds raised during the year were used to support the educational experience of pupils through.. Equipment purchases including gazeboes and IT resources. Educational resources funded included books and inleractive learning experiences. Contributions to school projects, trips and facilities included funds towards the Year 6 production and leavers, gifts.
The trustees consider that the activities carried out during the year furthered the charity's charitable purposes and provided benefit to pupils attending the school. 5. Financial Review The financial statements show net income of £3,544 for the year. The majority of income was generated by fundraising activities such as SGhool discos and the Christmas raffle and fayre. This is offset by operational costs and expenses, and donations to Holy Rood Catholic Primary totalling £2,708 in year. The charity has no official policy for holding reserves as there are no significant financial commitments associated with the operation of Holy Rood Parent and Friend Associalion. Trustees regularly review the available funds before committing to fund projects. The bank balance held as at 31st August 2025 was £7,359 with no cash in hand. Trustee Responsibilities Statement The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Reporl and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
