Early interwention using play and creative arts therapy can prevent escalation of mental heatth difti¢ullies btrfO￿ these become problematic for families and local cornmunities. Educating parents, carers and professionals increases the likelihood of long-temi recovery lor play therapy dient5. Research has shown that children from low-income families are more likely to experience a mental disorder. 17% of children whose parent5 receive welfare benefits We￿ found to have a mental disorder compared with 5% of children whose parents received no benefit5.
