ANNUAL REPORT

PURPOSE OF THE CHARITY

THE PROMOTION OF GOOD CITIZENSHIP FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN PARTICULAR BY PLANNING, ORGANISING AND STAGING ANNUAL ANZAC REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICES ON THE SUNDAY CLOSEST TO THE 25[TH] APRIL, ALONGSIDE OTHER COMMEMORATIVE AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR .

OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES

Since the foundation of A.R.C.I.O. in August 2024, the following has been achieved.

  1. Raising funds to support the ANZAC day ceremony in April 2025

  2. Establishment of a website… www.anzacrembrancecio.org

  3. Regular updates to the website, including reports and photographs.

  4. Establishment of an official donation tool on that website to seek donations for the charity.

  5. Donations received from individuals on the website and through personal contacts.

  6. Registration with HMRC for Gift Aid.

  7. Taking onto the Board of Trustees one more Trustee – R.A.F. Wing Commander Katherine Ingram M.B.E.

  8. Establishment and distribution of regular newsletters to the Trustees.

  9. Annual General Meeting held on Saturday 26[th] April 2025 in Harrogate, North Yorkshire with five of our six Trustees present.

  10. During the A.G.M., reports were submitted on financial matters, including bank balances, expenditure, income, set-up costs and Gift Aid. Accounts were agreed by the Trustees.

  11. On Sunday 27[th] April 2025, the ANZAC ceremony was held at the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery at Stonefall in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

  12. The ceremony was extremely successful. In attendance was the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, R.A.F., RNZAF, RAAF, US Space Force, French Air Force,

RAFA, RBL, Lord Mayor of Harrogate, Lord Mayor of Withernsea, Chief Constable of North Yorkshire, 630 Squadron. A reception was laid on after the ceremony.

  1. Around 100 members of the public, of all ages, attended. Music was supplied by Harrogate Band, together with a professional singer and a piper.

  2. Funds were raised at the ceremony by donations.

  3. The young RAF cadets were able to take part in the ceremony and appreciated meeting high-ranking and distinguished Air Force Personnel.

  4. The charity was pleased to report that at the end of our financial year on the 30[th] April 2025, all costs for the ceremony had been covered and a balance of around £400 would take us into 2025/26 and fundraising.
