The Trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2025
## Constitution and Objects
The Leigh on Sea Lions CIO is a registered charity no 1209507. The trust fund is constituted by a deed dated 8[th] August 2025.
The objects of Leigh on Sea Lions CIO are to apply the funds held for any purpose which is charitable according to the law of England and Wales whether for the benefit of any individual or group or for the benefit of any other organisation established for charitable purposes. This includes donation to charitable organisations connected to Lions Clubs International.
## Financial Review
The financial statements show donations and fund raising activities generated £55,340.61 Bank interest of £125.23 was received on deposit accounts in this year
Donations and awards distributed totalled £13,136.37 Details of these donations are set out in the notes to the accounts.

## Reserves Policy
At their regular meetings the Trustees receive reports of income and expenditure related to the activities of the club. Where it is thought appropriate, funds are reserves so that Trustees could always meet their responsibilities for contracted supplies and could refund monies to participants if an event was cancelled.
Also, where a donation has been agreed by the Trustees, funds are reserved to cover this until payment is made.
The Trustees do not consider any other reserves are necessary as applications for donations are always considered in light of the funds available.
## Risk Management
The Trustees have examined the major strategic and operational risks which the charity faces and confirm that systems have been established to enable regular reports to be produced so that the necessary steps can be taken to minimise these risks.
As part of this process, the Trustees take advise from officers appointed to Lions District 105CE to ensure compliance with legislation concerning Health and Safety and the protection of Vulnerable Persons. The Trustees also keep their insurance policies under review and take advise from Lions’ Insurance Advisors.
## Trustees’ Responsibilities
Law Applicable in England and Wales requires Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the charity’s financial activities during the year and of its financial position at the end of the year.
In preparing these financial statements, The Trustees are required to:
- Select Suitable Accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
- Make judgements and estimates that are responsible and prudent;
- State whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practise have been followed subject to any departure disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and
- Prepare the financial statements on the ongoing concern basis unless it is appropriate to assume that they charity will continue its activities.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities

## TRUSTEES OF LEIGH ON SEA LIONS CLUB
I report on the financial statements of the Trust Fund for the year ended 30 June 2025 which are set out on pages 5 to 7.
## Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
As the Clubs charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts.
The Clubs charity trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 (2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
Examine the accounts (under section 145 of the 2011 Act;
To follow the procedures laid down in the General directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 145 (5) (b) of the 2011 Act; and
State whether any particular matters have come to my attention.
## Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charities Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Club/Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently, no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a “true and fair view” and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
## Independent examiner's statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
- (1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respects the requirements
- (a) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and
(b) to prepare financial statements which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act.
(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
